“Patience will beat money in this hobby almost every single time” ‼️ 👀
What’s your opinions on this? for me - I agree. You could hand someone the rarest, most expensive birds in the country… and they can still fail.
Meanwhile another breeder quietly builds a quality line over years by taking there time; Some of the best birds I’ve ever seen and also bred myself hasn’t come from massive budgets, they came because we were patient enough to build properly. I started with the rare budgies by pairing split to split, keeping back the visuals and slowly weaning out those others, and yes - it took years… but look at the quality now because of it, with an example of this newly weaned blackface blackwing melanistic spangle 🤩
Now this shouldn’t put off anyone buying those really expensive birds, as it really does skip generations of hard work - I’m just trying to encourage those who think the rare side is untouchable or too expensive to show them it isn’t - Work with those splits and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.
The rare mutations game is a marathon, not a sprint!
