How adorable is fluff queen Kota!? We've so enjoyed having her on our puppy introduction course. She's growing so fast!

When Kota gets to full adult size, she'll need frequent grooms to keep her sheepy undercoat under control and her outer coat tangle free, soft, and light. Her grooms will take around 3 hours each time!

So far, she's experienced:

✨️ The sights, sounds, and smells of the grooming experience
✨️ Training jumping on and off of the grooming table
✨️ Training standing still for her groom (we are still working on this one!)
✨️ Encountering other dogs indoors
✨️ Her first professional bath and blowdry
✨️ Having her paws, pads, nails, ears, and coat handled by different people
✨️ A deep deshed of her loose puppy undercoat
✨️ Being praised and rewarded for positive behaviour

Kota is on the best possible journey for life long positive grooming. We are so pleased to be supporting her and her humans ❤️

We are pleased to introduce you to...

✨️THE SOPHIE AND FRIENDS DE-SHED HALL OF FAME ✨️

When it comes to double coat de-shedding, this lovely crew take the biscuit! As far as our team are concerned, there is nothing more satisfying than a really thorough de-shed. We loved leaving these pets looking and feeling cooler, lighter and happier.

✨️ Foxy (top left) is a Romanian rescue cross breed. Foxy took 3 hours to thoroughly brush, bath and dry. Her coat condition was completely transformed.

✨️ Toby (top right) is a who visits every 8 weeks. Every time he comes in, we spend at least an hour and a half brushing through his coat. His mum is thrilled with the reduction of hair in their house.

✨️ Jake (in the middle) is another Romanian rescue. At 14 he struggles badly with the heat and his regular grooms help him regulate his temperature.

✨️ Elsa (bottom left) is a beautiful her desheds happen every 8 weeks and help her to keep on top of matting and looking even more beautiful 😍

✨️ Pablo (bottom right) is a His lovely owner brings him in every 10 weeks
His grooms take 3 and a half hours and afterwards his coat looks beautifully light and shiny.

We groom all coat types at Sophie & Friends but really excel at creating giant floof piles from long haired and double coated .

🧡 Welcome lovely Teddy to Sophie and Friends 🧡

Teddy is just the sweetest boy. He was super nervous to start but our peaceful salon, longer appointment times and gentle handling soon helped him to relax and enjoy his time with us. So much so, he gave us his belly to scratch on the table while being dried!

We can't wait to see him again in a few weeks.

We get it. You adore your dog and want them to be happy and healthy, but... life is crazy and you just can't find the time to lavish them with all the attention they deserve. That's OK.

When time is short, optimise your dog care approach with a couple of game-changing activities. Our top 3 tips take less than 5 minutes, but will have a huge impact on your dog's wellbeing...

1. BRUSH HIGH FRICTION AREAS: behind the ears, under the front legs and around the neck. These are areas where matting most frequently occurs due to collar or harness rubbing and the good old scratch behind the ears. 5 mins spent brushing will decrease your dogs chance of developing painful matting, without spending hours brushing out their whole coat.

2. CHECK EARS FOR SIGNS OF INFECTION: A quick check of your dogs ears is a great way to spot waxy build up, inflammation, funky smells and irritation which could all be a sign of infection. Prevention is better than treatment. Contact your vet or groomer to help.

3. TREATS FOR FEETS: Spending 5 minutes working on desensitising your dog to paw, nail and pad touching will pave the way for your groomer to be able to trim their nails and care for their feet more effectively during their groom. Don't forget to reward for calm responses.

Your can help you with a fuller well-being programme for your dog at your regular appointments but these simple steps will help set your dog on the path to stress free grooming.
