Strange, disgusting, but educational bean in the photo and not the baked kind!
I had the equine winky washer out this week, yes yes that’s right that is an equine profession!!
Owning geldings (male horses with out the testicles) they often get a build up of grime, slim and other vile stuff because they are boys and they are not breeding stock so they basically don’t use it to get rid of the dirt (yes horses are vile too)
I noticed duke was not dropping his manhood to p*e properly and as I’m the brave girl I am I called someone in, and this in the photo is why! A bean as they are called, highly painful, irritable and can cause nasty infections, he’s probably had his a while as it is very large, hard and was not easy to remove! He accepted it fairly well and now back to being comfortable.
The other 3 boys where all clean 🧼

Owning horses is not always fun and games sometimes it turns your stomach and makes you wince a little 🤏

Quick update while I have a coffee as the last few weeks have been manic!!
First I want to thank everyone who helped with our jumble last week and everyone who attended we raised a lovely £172 to help towards the horses!

King had his massage with auntie Sarah Flying Hooves - Equine Massage, Bit & Bridle Fitting and he is getting better proved by his trot up with legs in the air and alot of enthusiasm

The horses went for a play at the neighbours and let me do a lot of fencing and horse wrangling, they all get on well and not a bother but I do prefer them to stay at home and thank you to the girls for helping me fence and wrangle them back in.

Our little Jessie went to her new home yesterday with a very good friend of mine who young horse I work with regularly and she’s already so so loved while we will miss her little face and huge character it’s all part of the process, she will literally be the most spoilt little princess and I get to see her all the time!

We now only have badger left that is available for rehoming, the rest are currently non rehoming residence for various reasons.

Again thank you for everyone who helps and makes it possible and easier for me to manage the chaos the horses cause me, I can not thank you all enough.

In the adventures of can only happen at my field!

Today has been a very strange day, while eating my McDonald’s breakfast before dropping the kids off to go to their dads (school allowed a day off due to weather and I agreed to a lay in) I got a phone call saying there is COWS in my field and my horses are going nutty! 🤯
I did not even know there was cows nearby or infact could get in my field (they came from the river bank, in another field corner and into mine, not the empty field next door they had to visit me!)
So round up the troops and off we go cause how the hell is there cows in my field!
Greeted with all the big horses 🐎 being absolutely stressed out as hell, blowing and snorting, white foamy sweat 💦
So round them up, stable them and try to settle them a little 🤏 that was not very successful, man turned up and removed the cows 🐄 they where only young and they where sweet looking the man not so much he was abput impressed as my horses 🐴 👀 the horses where not happy that Hayley’s Horse Hotel 🏨 had been turned into Hayleys Horse & Cow Hotel! Once the cows had left the field and on their way back
I start bucket washing them off with a travel cup and bucket! 🪣 as that’s all I had to hand at quick notice!
Sam Sam rushed off to get a hose pipe and drop the kids off and get me a well needed drink 🥤 rushing back with supplies like a good boy and to help in the process of cool down and hope Ginge did not colic!

Two hours later horses cooled, happy and back out, hydration feed then I went to get electrolytes and salt licks! Horses given sloppy feeds to help water intake!
Then ice 🧊 for waters, frozen apples, carrots and treats for them to encourage drinking as well! 800 litres of water used out the ibc that’s now empty and the hose fixed up and showering them down for ages!

Expensive day for small things but a lot cheaper than heatstroke and vet fees!

One thing I have learnt from today is I’m not getting a highland cow any time soon!

No pictures taken today because I was too stressed and cooked in the sun to be snapping pictures but here is one of king yesterday p*ekaboo

Apparently it’s winter 🥶 again! Rugs on again! Mud! Rain 🌧️ and more changes of clothes than I care to admit! And a very upset donkey who thinks the world is ending again because she has been rained on!

Today is a sharing stable day! Bless them I don’t think Mable 🫏was too happy to share with badger! 🦡

Upset every horse today well and truly!

Yesterday ordered my wormers for them and they arrived today Awsome service there from VioVet so everyone was weight taped and wormed they were not thrilled by that at all!

Then I put Jessie’s new muzzle on! Finally got one to fit! She is not happy at all but needs must as she is so over weight! So she has a new PONY size muzzle to help reduce her grass intake.
