The local river patrol checking in: Pippa, Nellie and Winnie 🐕⚓️

These three had their first off-leash experience last Wednesday and it went beautifully 🐾 This meet-up has been a long time coming—I’m a firm believer that you should never just throw a bunch of dogs together and hope for the best.

Here’s a look at what goes on behind-the-scenes to make sure everyone stays completely safe ⬇️

🐾 Scent first: We swapped scents beforehand so they were already familiar with each other’s “profile” before meeting face-to-face. Nellie and Winnie are a mother and daughter duo so they were already very used to one another 🐶

🐾 Distance walking: We spent time walking them on-lead at a parallel distance so they could get used to each other without any pressure.

🐾 Two handlers: I had an extra pair of hands on deck to help handle the dogs, read their body language and keep the whole introduction completely relaxed and controlled.

The patience definitely paid off. They were all exploring the meadow together in no time 🥰

Tolly 🐈‍⬛

I’m looking after Tolly and his brother Beau at the moment whilst their owners are on holiday and it’s been so lovely earning their trust. They are rescue cats who are very wary of people and I’m so touched that I can get this close to Tolly for a photo and to leave a trail of Dreamies. His brother Beau is getting braver too (he’s the one peeking out at the top of the stairs 🥹)!
