Dick Whittington's Cattery, Hockliffe

Dick Whittington's Cattery, Hockliffe We are a large boarding cattery in Hockliffe. We only care for cats so we are able to provide a rela

We have various types of accommodation to suit every cats needs, 18 outside chalets that can accommodate up to two cats sharing, all of our accommodation is suitable for those who dont find it too easy to get around, with floor level access or ramps. For those who don't like to venture outside at all we have 8 inside rooms which enable the cats to stay indoors at all times, these are also super for

recuperation after operations or injuries as well as those who are frail or very young. We only care for cats so there are no dogs barking to distress your cat. The chalets all look out onto a lovely large garden full of fruit trees, flowers and well maintained lawn. There is a little bubbling stream that runs along the back of the cattery which also provides a lovely array of wildlife including ducks for the cats to see as they often visit the garden. All of the chalets catch the sun at some point during the day so no-one gets left out from sun bathing! Our staff are all trained how to administer medication for common niggles, many cats, like people need to be given regular medication for various non-infectious conditions and this can be difficult when planning to leave your cat. We will administer their usual medication free of charge so you can be sure their health will not be put at risk. We even take care of Diabetic cats who need regular insulin injections. We have close relationships with local vets to ensure that in the unlikely event of an emergency the very best of care will be given to your cat immediately. Our staff have attended events on emergency first aid, as well as having good knowledge of parasites such as fleas and worms. This means we are able to offer free advice about worming and fleas, as well as offer treatments to keep them at bay. The staff also have some training in grooming, especially long-haired cats. This also allows us to offer nail clipping treatments at a very reasonable price. Most of all we aim to make your cat feel like she is one of the family and be happy, safe and content while she stays with us. We hope that in turn this puts you at ease and gives you one less worry while you are away.

I followed this poor girls story, look back on Cat Welfare Luton page, she was such a mess and all she wanted to do was be a good mum!! Surely someone would find this little girl perfect ❤️

Mummy Nova 🥰
After many weeks in rescue rearing her babies after arriving in agony and unable to eat or even groom herself or her babies 18 month old mummy Nova is now healthy and ready for her forever home 😻🐾
Nova has an undershot jaw and due to that and severe dental disease she had to have all 30 teeth out when she arrived with us, she was also found to be carrying two types of cat flu - herpes and calici virus.
She does almost permanently have her tongue out and is a dribbly messy eater 🫣
On the plus side though she’ll never need any dental work doing….

Nova is a sweet and friendly girl with a sassy tortie streak she’s full of character!
She’s spayed, chipped, first part vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatment. We ask a £125 donation and new owners need to complete the second part of her vaccination course.
She would like access to a garden once settled and can live with older children.
If you are interested in adopting please send us a message with some info about your home/family 🐾

Just goes to show why microchips are so so important to our babies!! I cant imagine how these people feel getting their cat back!

A cat owner was left "overwhelmed" with emotion after his missing feline returned after 16 years ❤️🐈

Sunshine strolled out of Carl Pullen's house in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, in 2009 but never came back.

Mr Pullen, who now lives in Essex, said he was "so surprised" when a veterinarian called him on Monday to say the pedigree Bengal had landed on their desk.
