Leigh Regatta! ❤️

When a dog sitter will not let her injury get her down! Lovely Ravioli the Wiggy has come to stay for a few days so with the help of my husband we have a fabulous few hours in old Leigh enjoying the sunshine and festivities! Ralph and Ravioli were brilliant, we bumped into lots of my lovely clients too which was so lovely 🥰

So this has happened! 😳

Following a car accident recently (in my new car 😭) when someone drove into the back of me whilst I was stationary at some traffic lights, I have ended up with damage to all 7 discs in my neck. I had an MRI this week and the scan shows my neck has been damaged at every level, caused by the trauma of the accident. The pain has extended into my left shoulder, arm, hand and all fingers.

So, the reason for this post is firstly to say thank you to all my brilliant clients who were wonderfully understanding when I had to cancel walks following the accident. Secondly, the biggest thanks to my clients who I have contacted this week to say I need to reduce my workload for a few weeks and I am unable to walk their beloved doggies until I’m better.

I am still walking every day but am trying to do just one walk a day instead of my usual 2, 3 or 4. I have made dogs who are home alone while their owners are at work my priority for the time being, until I can start increasing my workload again. It’s been really hard to have those conversations, I have such an amazing pack of dogs and I am going to miss them all so much for the next few weeks.

All my daycare and boarding bookings are most definitely not affected and me and the family (and Ralph and Dexter) can’t wait to welcome everyone through our door 🥰

Just to add I won’t be wearing this sling whilst out on walks! It’s just when I’m at home in order to rest it 😊

Summer! 🌞 💛

I’ve just realised I haven’t posted for ages so as the summer hols are nearly at an end and my last holiday doggies are going home, here’s a little collection of some of the furry faces that have checked in at the Happy Hounds Hotel these last few weeks 🏨

Whippet Weekender! Sighthound central last weekend as 3 Whippet boys checked in and a big well done to Herbie as it was his trial sleepover, which he passed with flying colours! 🙌🏻 So alongside my Ralph, we were joined by Herbie, Iggy and Oscar. Lots of spindly legs and pointy snouts adorning the sofas and trying to keep cool 🩵

My poor Ralph was attacked by a dog while we were out walking today 😢 He and the 3 others I was walking were trotting along minding their own business and a Jack Russell coming towards us made a beeline for Ralph and went for him. It was a truly horrific situation. He’s been to the vets, he’s okay but has been left with 3 nasty puncture wounds on his neck, shoulder and tail 💔 A big well done to the three dogs I was walking, they kept completely calm throughout the whole situation and didn’t leave my side. Lots of cuddles for our Ralphie ❤️

Weekends at the Happy Hounds Hotel 🏨

This one has been hot! 🔥 We’ve been at full capacity all week, there’s been Sighthounds languishing on sofas totally over the heat, Frenchies fed up that they can’t have a long walk and Doodles and Poos just loving life as always ❤️

I’ve spent alot of time (as you can see from the pics) laying on sofas indoors and outdoors with dogs draped all over me. It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it! 🤣

Thank you, doggies as always for being totally brilliant and for making my job pretty damn amazing! ❤️

The end of another fantastic week at Happy Hounds ❤️ The hotel has been bursting with doggos of all shapes and sizes, coming and going, while their humans go on holiday. The group walks have been full of happy dogs having a good time, swimming in the river and racing around with their mates. Thank you to all my lovely dogs for being so well behaved and my brilliant clients who keep me busy ❤️

🐕‍🦺 I don’t know how you do it!

I hear the above pretty much every day from well-meaning people walking their dogs! I know it probably looks like potential chaos with me in charge of 5 or 6 dogs…but it’s not chaos!

They have so much fun on every walk, loving life and playing with their friends. I am always practicing recall and regularly doing training, as I did today. Look at those brilliant doggos. They make me so happy 😃

Happy Birthday to my husband! As well as having his own, brilliant job! he helps me out massively with the doggos when he’s at home. They all love him ❤️ He’s always got a dog draped on him, a couple of pooches having a Sunday morning lie-in with him or he’s feeding them meat that he’s just roasted in the kitchen! Happy birthday darling. Today you will be mostly working and then coming home to a houseful of 🦮🐕🐩🐕‍🦺🐶

Jarvis ❤️

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I find myself writing this little tribute to the wonderful Jarvis who went to sleep one last time last week 💔

I had the absolute pleasure of looking after Jarvis the French Bulldog several times and my whole family adored him. We had a real soft spot for Jarv, he was so similar to our Dexter, the likeness was remarkable, like two gorgeous peas in a pod 🥰 Jarv was 11 years old and Dexter is 10 so both old boys and it’s like they knew, they hung out together on the sofa or by the fire quietly, watching what was going on. They even had the same brindle colouring and both acted like puppies again when the toy basket came out ☺️

Jarvis was one of the easiest dogs I’ve ever looked after, so polite, friendly and well behaved and he made us laugh with his funny little ways, his incredible snoring, his passion for toys and his cute bark.

I was due to be looking after Jarvis next week 😞 I am going to miss you Jarv, you truly were a very special doggo. Your lovely family I know feel so blessed to have had 11 wonderful years with you. I know they have found it incredibly heartbreaking this last week or so and I want to say thank you to them for allowing me to look after Jarvis, it was an honour ❤️

Lola! 🌸

Little teeny weeny Lola completed her trial daycare in style yesterday. Totally smashed it with ultimate coolness 🥰

Lola is a Sh*tzu and is almost 11 years old. She’s in her golden years and is the sweetest little lady. Lola is literally no trouble, as long as she’s got cuddles on tap, had a walk, some fishy snacks and a comfy blanket, then she’s happy! She absolutely loved my son Zac, she got super excited when he got home from college ☺️

Yes I wasn’t supposed to be taking any new clients on 🤦🏼‍♀️ but after I got a heartfelt message from Lola’s owners looking for help, I couldn’t say no. So we are getting Lola settled with me before she comes to stay for her holidays ❤️

Well done Lola. You smashed it 👏🏻👏🏻
