On Saturday, I treated the very lovely Ziggy🥰🦄 he is awesome to treat as he loves his massage treatments and offers some great releases! On the left was him this weekend and on the right is my favourite picture from when I visited him last time. I just love how much he tunes in and enjoys himself. He is 24 but still looking amazing and he was feeling much better after his treatment to help keep him mobile and happy in his retirement💕💕

So sorry I have been so quiet recently, things have been crazy in my own personal life and of course with the horses. Here’s a little update for you all; Manley is still a rather fat and fluffy field ornament😆 Missy is doing amazing and I will have an update post about her coming soon🥰 oh And Jolene is now up for sale😇 This means I will soon have some evenings and weekends free for schooling/ riding other horses. I’m currently schooling my girl Elementary/ Medium and I like to focus on re-training. If anyone is interested please message me to discuss.. rides are foc at present, yes completely free only fuel contributions apply😁

I would also like to reassure people I am still offering treatments although on weekends only, however if this doesn’t suit please do not hesitate to contact me and I will see what I can do😊 Treatments are £30 and lots of discount available for group/ yard bookings. Would love to hear from you x

Did you know that stretching helps to increase the length of both muscles and tendons, therefore allowing the horse an increased range of motion. Conditioning the muscles will help to support the horse to meet the necessary demand we have placed upon them. Stretching can help to promote blood flow, the delivery of oxygen and nutrients for muscle cleansing and also increase lymph flow. Within the working horse it will aid the removal of lactic acid from tired and hard worked muscles. Even simple carrot stretches will help the bend and flexion in the neck and these can easily be done a couple of times a week to enhance the work under saddle. It can also can do wonders for the older horse; enabling better coordination and promoting the joints actions and abilities, increasing the range of motion able to be performed.

Additionally, stretching can have many psychological benefits to the horse. Each time the muscle fibres are gently stretched, they send impulses to the brain via sensory nerve endings that automatically order a state of relaxation. This will promote security, calmness and general well- being. I like to perform a select few of the stretches after a treatment as it will help to compliment the massage routine.

I would like to share an amazing experience I had treating my own lovely mare, Missy. With the increase in exercise and work activity, I knew she would be feeling muscular stress in various places due to the changes in her body over the last few months. I knew she had tight spots in her Braciocephalicus and cervical Trapezius. I also felt some resistance through her neck when ridden.

I find Missy sensitive, and although I wouldn’t classify her as headshy she can be flinchy, and as we haven’t known each other too long I don’t feel we have truly connected yet. However, instantly Missy was very responsive and guided me. She wanted harder pressures over the knots in her neck and her responses were close to instant. We had so much licking, chewing and some big yawns too. She even did her own neck stretches once I had finished, showing me how supple and flexible she was feeling. I felt she completely opened up to me and the benefits were huge. She went so nicely after being treated too. I could go on and on about what happened in our session but In short, I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that sometimes the quieter ones can teach us so much. Our horses are always talking to us, we just have to learn how to listen🦄🤗

Sorry I have been a bit quiet recently! Some exciting news as I have been putting most of my time into my own new horses:
* Inglenooks Jolene - 4yo Warmblood mare, currently being broken by me and a good friend of mine💕
* Dernakesh Mystery - 6yo Connemara mare with a lot to learn but I am hoping for great things from her🌟
(* I still have Manley although he is now retired due to some ongoing lameness issues so is currently a happy lawn mower👑)
