After a few iterations, we still arnt quite there with the spelling of the bit doctor on my top and the bridle is a bit dodgy on the horse. But I think I'd quite like to have these made 🤣🤣

Had another amazing clinic in Lincolnshire!
3 days and 12 great horses!
It's so good to see riders wanting to make their horses as comfortable as possible.
The horses were all stars!

Incisors this time! Following on from our last post where we saw feed staining and and abnormal angle of the arcades, what specific features can we see here that feels the story of the disease?

So I’m sure many of you will know what the disease is, so no prizes for saying EOTRH - but what specifically tells us about the disease eg pain / no pain etc? How do we know this is a painful condition - what evidence is there from the picture?

Just because they are described as having tongue relief doesn't mean they suit every horse!

Take a look at this Cambridge port (magic bit). It's too narrow for this horses tongue so sits on top of the tongue and creates pressure points.

✨️warning this is real - if you're squeamish then look away now! ✨️
This is amazing!! When I tell my clients that there's nerves so close to the surface right under where your stacked buckles are this is what i mean!
The nerves that run at the back of the ear - that's why I will always recommend a bridle which doesn't mount the ear bulb!

I always say this to my clients.
Babies / green horses where you'll be asking different questions regularly 6-8 months.
Those working longer on levels but will be changing the question 12 months.
Those looking to happy hack or keep at the same level then just as and when you think you need me.

This may change due to injuries, surgery's, change of rider, change in rider (medical conditions or injuries). Then you'll be surprised to know you may need a different bit.

Horses heads change roughly every 2 years once fully grown so bridles will need to be checked roughly every 6months for youngsters and 2 years for 8+yo.

Horse and rider combinations who are moving through training levels by more than one level are likely to need more than one fitting during the horse’s career.
