Vi is growing so fast and I’m training her to be combed for 5 minutes a day. She’s got huge ear tufts. More like a teenager now 😂🙈

So this girl has arrived in my life and I’m totally in love. Meet silver tabby and white Maine c**n Violet-Selina. But we call her Vi ❤️

My old boy will be 16 in June. He has severe arthritis and is on Solentia injections monthly which have helped him with mobility and to enjoy cuddles again.
Arthritis surprisingly common in older cats. Signs can be issues with missing when using the cat tray (I got a large and lower one for Ebo) and struggling to jump up. Ebony also has lost a lot of muscle mass in his back legs. So he’s a bit like a body builder with a more developed top half! If you cat begins to sleep more, self groom less and move less then it’s worth having he or she checked out for arthritis. Cats hide pain and so won’t tell you.

This pretty girl is so spicy. Her mum helps and wears two pairs of gloves. After the groom she enjoyed some fish 🐠 I’m not sure I will find a groomer for her 💔 today she let me stroke her ❤️

Senior cats can have beautiful coats. Ebony has a bath spa day every month to ensure his fur stays fresh and tangle free! My boy is almost 16! If you are choosing another kitty don’t overlook house panthers. For some reason rescues state black and black and white kitties are harder to find homes for.

**Cat groomers who cover Leeds**

Some people have asked about groomers who offer a service for cats. I know most cat exclusive groomers are booked up and may offer a waiting list. Here are a few I know groom cats Mucky Pups offer cat days usually once a month and on Sundays. They will provide matting removal and brush out desheds but not baths. LD Cat Grooming offer Fridays in a salon (Birstall area I think but do check) and limited house call on other days. EC CatCare is likely to be booked up and might have a waiting list and doesn’t cover Leeds. I also know that Groom Palace Harrogate does some cat grooming too. Hopefully this will offer some options to those looking for a cat groomer.
I plan to adapt this page to one offering tips and information regarding cats and maybe some cat toys too, watch this space 😻

Retiring from grooming

I’m sorry to announce that due to the ongoing cost of living crisis, family caring and full time working commitment that I will be retiring from grooming next month, this will include the small number of house call I’ve done very locally for more vulnerable cats, elderly cats and customers.

It’s with a heavy heart I make this announcement.

I’ve loved helping your kitties look and feel fabulous.

It’s hard to make recommendations. Cat grooming is a niche area. A service that suits one person won’t be right for another.

I wish you all the very best from the bottom of my heart ❤️ cats are truly magic.

Happy New Year!

My mum fell before Christmas and broke her hip. She was in hospital for 3 weeks but luckily out before Christmas. She’s making progress but due to having a really bad fall she’s needing help and support daily.

Any plans for potentially renting a grooming space are on hold.

The office job is going well but lots to learn and it’s full time 9-5pm so quite exhausting but interesting!

**Update**
I know some of you will have caught this on Facebook already. I’m starting a new admin job in a few weeks, it’s full time 9-5pm and I will be concentrating on this new role and getting myself settled in for the rest of this year. I’m hopeful that I can find a space to rent from a dog groomer one Sunday per month next Spring. I’ve been in touch with a few dog groomers so fingers crossed. In the meantime I hope you and your kitties are keeping well. It’s starting to feel a lot like autumn now so hopefully less moulting for a while!

**Information**

I wanted to post a little update. I’ve been busy with decorating my home during my break and also having a clear out and also some time to relax.

I won’t bore with you with moans about the current financial climate, you’re all aware already! However due to needing to have a steady income, I will be starting an admin job later in November (Monday to Friday 9-5pm).

This does mean I will be busy learning the ropes in my new job for the rest of 2022. I am hopeful that I can rent a space from a dog groomer next year. It would be one Sunday per month.

Speaking of dogs a groomer is going to rent my old shop from this week and I wish her all the best Bibbidi Bobbidi Woof 🐶 If you have dogs and live in the area give her page a follow.

In the meantime feel free to pm me if you have any queries or you would be interested in being contacted directly if I acquire space for grooming.

Final grooms completed 😿 the shop is now closed.

I’m taking a break from the end of September for a few months and will update when I know what my future plans are.
