☀️🐾Bank Holiday weekends mean BBQs, good food, and time outdoors ☀️🐾

But while we’re enjoying the grill, it’s important to remember that some BBQ favourites can be dangerous for our dogs:

⚠️ Corn on the cob – Can cause serious blockages if swallowed
⚠️ Skewers – Sharp and can lead to internal injuries if chewed or eaten
⚠️ Onions – Toxic to dogs, even in small amounts
⚠️ Fatty scraps & leftovers – Can upset stomachs or lead to pancreatitis
⚠️ Hot BBQs & coals – Curious noses can get badly burned

Keep your furry friends safe this Bank Holiday:
✔️ Keep food out of reach
✔️ Secure bins and leftovers
✔️ Never leave dogs unattended near the BBQ
✔️ Make sure guests know not to feed them scraps

Digby got an early start by eating 2 pieces of corn on the cob, and unfortunately, he had to visit our vet, Ruth, this morning!

🇪🇺🚘✈ EU TRAVEL UPDATE

❗️EU pet passports issued to GB residents before 22 April 2026 may no longer be valid documents for entry to the EU. This means GB residents – even if they already have an EU pet passport – may need a different document to take their pet to the EU.
📝To guarantee smooth travel, owners resident in Great Britain should get an Animal Health Certificate for their dog, cat or ferret(s) if they’re travelling from Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) to an EU country.

EU pet passports may now only be issued to people whose main home is in the EU and should not be used by people who have holiday homes in the EU or visit seasonally.
