Welcome to The Urban Pet Store! We are an independent, family-owned pet store situated in the heart of Garforth, West Yorkshire.

Dedicated to natural, healthy & biologically appropriate food, treats & accessories - all chosen with love and care to help your pets thrive 🌿❤️🐾 We first opened our doors back in May 2018, with a promise to deliver natural and ethically sourced pet supplies to our local area. We proudly fullfilled this promise with our large selection of 100% natural pet food and treats, sustainably sourced and f

air-trade small animal/bird toys and large (and ever growing!) selection of raw dog food. We consider your pets as much a part of our family as they are yours, which means we'll never recommend products that we don’t believe to be in their best interests. Here at The Urban Pet Store we do not believe that dogs are 'just dogs'. With completely unique, individual and varying needs, we will always strive to go out of our way if it means helping you to find the perfect product for your individual pet. We have selectively chosen specific manufacturers whose ethics match our own, whilst offering quality products which contain only the best, natural ingredients. Whilst we are certainly dog mad, we do also provide a wide range of products for cats, small animals, wild birds and aviary birds. In keeping with our core values, we do not sell any live animals. We do however support our local rescue centres and encourage 'Adopt Don't Shop!' ☝️

Meet our little visitor! 🥹🐈🐾

This sweet little, fluffy dumpling is called Buffy. She loves cuddles, being sensational, and resting her tiny toebeans on people's shoulders while she naps 💤 Today she attempted to climb into a treat bucket, almost wiggled under the counter, and was serenaded with verses of 'oh my goodness little boobooboos, you are such a cutie wootie boo' on repeat 🔄🥳

It's birthdays all around today! 🎈🎁

Not only is it my birthday, but it's also Kas's too! 🥳 And since I firmly believe that nobody should have to work on their birthday (even if that is a little self-serving 😄), the shop will be closing a bit earlier today.

I'm here until 2pm, and then I'm tootling off to eat triple my weight in cake 🎂

We'll be back open as normal tomorrow!

And on a side note, we've had a delivery of beds arrive this morning. I definitely didn't heap them up and have a lay down ✌️

Okay, I'm sorry! 🙈 Our page has been disgracefully quiet for the last few weeks, and it's because I was in full holiday goblin mode 😶‍🌫️

A good self-employed business owner might continue to work whilst floating around on a giant inflatable flamingo… but unfortunately, I’m not that girl 😂 Instead, I’ve been crisping myself like a rotisserie chicken, ignoring my phone, and downing fresh orange juice like there’s no tomorrow ✨🍊 (teetotal girly 💅)

BUT I’m baaack, and there are so many exciting things to come! 🥳

🎄 A big box of Christmas KONG toys arrived while I was away. I ordered it in February so it’s as much as a surprise for me as it is for you 😂

🎃 Howloweeeeeen is next week! (which means an ample supply of counter chocolates that are *definitely* not for us 👀)

🦴 The treat display is absolutely brimming after a mountain of deliveries 📦

🥩 Fresh Nutriment & Dougie’s are landing this week!

🐕 Dog coats and dog beds will start rolling in soon 💫

Daisy has been visiting us since the very beginning, 7 whole years ago! 🥹 She's still the same booty-wiggling, snacky-sniffing queen, with the softest cotton wool fur we've ever seen ✨️🤍

⚠️ Please keep an eye out for Bella on your walkies, social media platforms, community groups and even pet-selling sites (such as Preloved or Pets4Homes) ⚠️

Bella the lurcher mix was stolen from Woodhaven Rescue Kennels in South Milford on Tuesday 12th August. The suspects also tried to take 2 other dogs, but thankfully they are safely back at Woodhaven.

There's been no new information come to light on her knowledge of Bella's whereabouts, so please keep your eyes peeled! Get in touch if you have any information.
