Firework season can be magical for us—but terrifying for our dogs. The loud bangs, flashing lights, and unpredictability can trigger anxiety, fear, and even panic. At K9 Karma, we’re here to help you prepare your pup with kindness and confidence. 🩷

Top Tips to Prep Your Dog for Fireworks:
🏠 Create a Safe Space: Set up a cozy den with blankets, toys, and calming scents. Let your dog retreat there when they need comfort.
🔊 Sound Desensitization: Play firework sounds at low volume during calm moments. Gradually increase volume over time while rewarding calm behavior.
🎶 Use Background Noise: White noise, calming music, or the TV can help mask sudden bangs.
🐕 Stay Calm Yourself: Dogs mirror our emotions. If you’re relaxed, they’re more likely to feel safe.
🍖 Positive Reinforcement: Reward calm behavior with treats or play. Never punish fear—comfort and reassurance go a long way.

With the weather due to get warm again this week, remember to keep your dog safe in the sun by:

- Providing clean drinking water.
- Try giving your dog frozen treats.
- Ensure your dog has shaded areas.
- Applying room temperature water if needed.
- Walk at cooler times of the day.
- Contact your vet if you think your pet is showing any signs or Heat Exhaustion.
