As your all aware.. this is Fred, my beautiful fur baby.
Fred has been having test now for the last 2 weeks, our vet’s were 99.9% sure after Ultrasound’s and bloods that a diagnosis of Cushing disease was the way forward.
Even so they still refused to place Fred on medication until they completed yet more expensive bloods test at the expense of Fred deteriorating . Friday I begged the vets to issue medication due to the decline of Fred… but they asked if I wanted to look at euthanasia… Fred started to lose his sight Saturday due to the tumour in his pituitary gland… by Sunday most of his sight had gone.
Urgent second opinion on Sunday said Fred was end stage Cushing and treatment was urgently needed.
This new vet wasn’t interested in blood results, he was treating Fred and his appearance.
Just because you’ve been using a vet for years doesn’t mean you should listen to them!… use your gut! You’re the ones who know your pet the best… seek that second option. We’ve now to take each day as it comes and how Fred responds to treatment. 💙
