Adorable tortie floof Cleopatra is every bit as beautiful as Queen Cleopatra and already Queen of all our hearts at the centre. ❤️

She’s a very friendly, happy girl who presses her head gently into your hand or arm (whatever’s nearest!) to politely ask for strokes! She has the most beautifully soft coat and stunning green eyes. 💖

While our Cleopatra doesn’t bathe in milk, she’s a very clean girl who keeps her coat looking its best with a little help from volunteers when they brush her - she does promise to shower you in purrs and roly polys though! ❤️

No one believes she’s 10 years old when they meet her, she likes to play with her knitted mouse and dash about her apartment happily when she has visitors. 🥰 She’s also incredibly charismatic and knows all her cutest poses to get ‘her humans’ doing whatever she wants - oh hand me another treat please kind sir! 😂

🐾 To offer Cleopatra a prized position in your heart and home, please complete her application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=52383

Teacup Persian type Acacious was abandoned in a van with other animals. 😢 He was understandably very shaken up when he first arrived. Happily, with patience and care - he’s now much more comfortable in his surroundings and shows us every day that he’s a sweet, gentle boy who longs for love and affection. He looks up at you with his big green eyes and enjoys every moment of being stroked. 🥰

We’ve found he’s much more comfortable around female volunteers and can be a little worried by males. Unfortunately we don’t know anything about his background but we’re hopeful that in a calm home - he’ll continue to relax and show a new family what a stunning boy he is.

Acacious’ coat was matted when he arrived and was making him feel uncomfortable - so it’s currently shaved but has already started to grow back and return to its former beauty. He will need help from his adopter to ensure his stunning coat stays shiny and in tip top condition.

If you have time to spend and are happy to be patient with Acacious as he learns humans can be kind and loving - please consider adopting him. We have a feeling he’s going to make such a special friend once he fully recovers from his ordeal.

Acacious was initially put in an apartment with one of the other cats he was found with. Sadly they didn’t get along, so he’s looking for a home as an only pet please.

🐾 To apply to adopt 2 year old Acacious please complete his application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=52022

Thank you 🙏

Minnie has been waiting 167 days for someone to choose her. 😢 She came to us after her owner sadly passed away. Minnie is an affectionate little lady who likes company and cuddles. She’s also a little posh and likes to drink her water by dipping her paw in her bowl and delicately licking it off her soft fur! ❤️😂

At 10 years old, she found the transition from loving home to the cattery quite difficult initially and developed some bladder stones. These have now been removed and she’s fully recovered. Happily, since she’s been in a foster home she’s not had any reoccurrence. Minnie enjoys a hairball specific food to help prevent her getting hairballs. She purrs happily as her fosterer brushes her to keep her coat free of loose fur. ❤️

We know it might take a special person to take a chance on her but we really hope there’s someone out there who can offer her a soft spot on their sofa and a place in their heart.

Minnie is looking for a home where she’s the only pet please and would enjoy access to a garden or safe outdoor space, once she’s settled in.

🐾 To bring the light back to Minnie’s eyes, please apply to adopt her via her profile: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=22575

At 18 years old Duchess is our eldest resident. As a senior lady, we don’t want her to spend a moment longer in care than she needs to, so we’re hoping to find her a happily ever after for her twilight years. 👸🏼 She didn’t get the memo about her age though and everyone who meets her is so surprised about her age as she’s so spritely and incredibly loving. 🥰

Considering her age, Duchess is in good health. She eats renal food to support her kidneys but doesn’t require medication for this. Duchess has osteoarthritis so will need ongoing pain relief to ensure she continues to enjoy every day.

Boy does she live life to the fullest and even enjoys a little play in between cuddles on the nearest knee and contented purrs! 🥰

🐾 To offer Duchess a soft throne, loving subjects and a place as Queen of your castle, please apply to adopt her: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=51669

Tonight we have a few words about our one and only, loveable superstar, Buster! Buster found his way into our care in April, as he wasn’t getting on with the other cats in the household. He was definitely more of a people cat (though he did also like the company of dogs too!)

Buster is an incredibly affectionate and confident cat, he very much enjoyed being the centre of attention, and just loved people and attention (and cuddles!). He certainly made many friends, fans and admirers during his time in care. Buster had us all quite worried when he became poorly during his time at Gildersome due to pancreatitis and had a number of vet appointments. It was a worrying week for us all where he wasn’t the Buster we all know at all and was off his food, which is also very not buster-like!

Luckily Buster was soon on the mend with his medication and was back to his bright, happy self in no time which was a very welcome relief. Buster absolutely charmed his new family, as you can imagine, and I’m sure you can see he has well and truly made himself at home, has a well-deserved second chance, and is very loved, which is all we can ask for, for all our cats 😻💜.

His new family gave us this gorgeous update:

“Buster is fitting in so well with us and seems happy. He’s been out and about and tends to like just relaxing in the garden. He’s ventured a few doors down but he’s always popping back to check on us. He’s been eating ok. I’ve resisted the temptation to feed him tit bits but he’s on my heels whenever I go to the fridge. He lets us know it’s time to get up in the morning and he’s so friendly and chilled .

We are really happy to have him and thank you so much. I’ve attached a few pics . He’s already lost his collar but we are getting a new one. He loves a cuddle. The best cat! ❤️”

Thank you to Buster’s new family for these beautiful photos and update. It’s great to hear how well he’s already settled in.

124 days ago little Jimmy was very sadly abandoned at our gates. 😢 His tiny miaow, small stature and affectionate nature soon earned him a place in the hearts of our volunteers. He loves his food and is affectionately known as “Jimmy con carne”.

While we wouldn’t say he has a spicy side, he just has a little extra flavour and can sometimes be a bit cheeky when he’s stroked for longer periods. For this reason, he’s better suited to a home with either adults or older children who are experienced with cats. He would love access to a garden or safe outdoor space to frolic in after his initial settling in period. 🌳

Jimmy loves people though and has genuine joy in his face when he’s getting attention - he just needs some stability and to settle into a routine, so he can show someone what a lovely boy he is. ❤️

Jimmy was abandoned with 3 other cats, so could possibly live with another cat with a similar temperament.

After being abandoned all 3 year old Jimmy really wants is to feel loved. If you could offer him his happily ever after, please get in touch. 🖤

🐾 Jimmy Con Carne is available for adoption by completing his application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=51655

🏡 URGENT Farm or Rural Home Needed 🏡
Do you know anyone? Maybe you have an equestrian friend? 🐴
Many cats are so much happier in a rural home such as stables, farm or small holding 🏡🌳 where they can come and go at their own free will. Most will happily help with some rodent control at their new home🐀 in exchange for regular meals and care. The caretaker will take responsibility for the welfare of the cat, including veterinary care if required. The caretaker will also need a secure stable/barn/outbuilding in which the cat will have to be kept for a minimum of four weeks in order to readjust to their new environment (this is a must to ensure the cat doesn’t flee through fear or panic which can be detrimental to a cat who is in an unfamiliar environment)
All cats who are homed to an outdoor placement will be neutered & will have been treated for fleas & worms.
Please share, particularly those who have contacts with stables/allotments/small holdings.
If you, or someone you know can offer a safe outdoor haven, then please contact the team via DM or by emailing [email protected]
Thank you 🙏

Taz has a stunning (and quite rare!) dilute tortie coat with blue/ grey fur mixed with cream and pale ginger. She came to us following a relationship breakdown, so has sadly experienced a lot of change.

Happily, she’s a friendly, affectionate lady who loves nothing more than settling down next to you and enjoying some attention.

In fact, she loves cuddles so much if you stop stroking her, she extends her paw and rests it gently on your arm asking you to continue. ❤️

Taz is now in her 13th year and hoping it’s lucky for her and it’s the one where she finds her happily ever after. Being a gentle girl, in the past she had cystitis due to stress from other cats, so she is looking for a home as an only pet please. We’ve found she’s managing really well with a supplement that doesn’t require a prescription on her food to support urinary health.

🐾 To apply to adopt Taz, please complete her application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=50119

Pippa and Patches have well and truly got their paws under the table with their new family. It looks like they now spend their days roly polying and relaxing together - we couldn’t have asked for a happier home for them. ❤️

Here’s a little update from their adopters,

“It’s been a while since I updated you on Pippa and Patches. They are well and truly settled at ours and rule the roost! They take it in turns to sleep on everyone’s beds at night, instead of their own and own the garden as well as our neighbours!🤣 They are the cats of the hood! We love having them and can’t imagine our home without them!😻”

Thank you to Pippa and Patches adopters for this gorgeous update - it’s so special for us to see them looking so happy. 🤍🤎🧡
