How we're keeping cool in the sun this week ☀️

Your pets' health and safety is always my top priority, but in weather like this extra precautions are needed! Here are some of the ways I make sure everyone stays safe in the sun:

☀️ Where possible, walks are moved to earlier time to avoid the highest temperatures
☀️ Walks will be a maximum of 30 minutes
☀️ Shady walking routes will be taken
☀️ Water is offered frequently
☀️Comfort levels, panting and tongue shape will be assessed and walks will end early if changes are seen

Bojangles recommends: Woodside Home Dog Boarding 🐾💚

On yesterday's post I encouraged everyone to give a shout out to small businesses so thought I should join in too.

When we went to Florida last year I was so worried about leaving Brian as he's a sensitive soul, selective about the dogs he likes and not a fan of change. Someone recommended I contact Tiffany at Woodside Home Dog Boarding and I'm so grateful they did! Whilst it's not 1:1/solo boarding Tiffany is able to accommodate dogs who aren't comfortable being around other dogs 24/7 so it's a perfect set up for Bri. She got to know his needs, made him feel at home and kept us updated regularly. I didn't know if he'd be a bit stressed when we got home but he was his usual happy self.

I appreciate if you're in Leeds like me it's not the most local option, however if your dog is like Bri and might not fit into the typical group boarding situation I would highly recommend the drive.

We're so thankful to have found Tiffany and Woodside! I was much less stressed when we went away recently as I knew Brian was being treated like part of the family and having a great time on his woodland walks 🐾

This might not look exciting but it makes my job much easier! 🐾

One of my most-used pieces of equipment is my used poo bag holder. Not glamorous or fancy but massively helpful 😂

I can clip it onto leads or my bag so I don’t have to spend the walk carrying poo bags in my hand. Did it feel weird at first to have a full poo bag dangling in front of me as I walk? Absolutely. But once I could appreciate how much difference it makes to have my hands free I could never go back.

It’s one of those tiny things that just makes walks significantly easier.

You’re in the right place if your dog’s ideal walk looks a little different 🐾

Maybe your dog needs a bit of patience.
Maybe they’re slower, nervous, easily overwhelmed, or just like doing things their own way.
Maybe walks don’t look picture perfect.

I offer calm, one-to-one walks that are shaped around the dog in front of me, including their pace, their preferences, and what they’re comfortable with. There’s no rushing, no pressure, just thoughtful, steady walks where they can genuinely relax and enjoy being out.

Some of the best walks are the quiet, slow, slightly wonky ones.

I’ve have a limited number of walking slots available at the moment, so if you’re reading this thinking “that’s my dog”, pop me a message and we’ll have a chat ✉️
