Hello everyone ❤️
I’d love to introduce myself.
My name is Joanna, and I run Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) sessions at Swallow Farm Stables, Wellington Heath. I have been working professionally in the equine and wellbeing field for over 20 years, and I’m passionate about helping both children and adults grow, develop, and thrive through meaningful connection with horses.
I warmly invite you to come for a taster session — you may find that what we offer is exactly what you or your little ones need.
All sessions are by appointment only and can be booked via:

Alongside EFL, I also run mindfulness-based art and craft sessions for children of all ages at Wellington Heath Village Hall on Saturdays.
What I Offer
As an EFL coach, I provide highly professional, tailored support for:
Neurodivergent children and adults
Individuals with additional needs
Those with learning difficulties
Anyone facing emotional, mental health, or general wellbeing challenges
My horses and I work together to support clients through moments of transition, development, or when extra guidance and grounding are needed.
What Makes EFL Different
It’s important to know that EFL is not the same as general horse riding.
While both involve horses, the goals, methods, and training are completely different.
My work focuses on:
Connection
Grounding and emotional balance
Mindfulness and awareness
Natural horsemanship
Understanding horses as living, feeling beings — not simply animals to ride
In EFL, horses are partners in learning and healing. Their presence helps us build self-awareness, resilience, confidence, and calm. This is the foundation of my practice.
The Heartland Community
Over the past year, I have been building something special: Heartland, our growing EFL family. As a member, you receive:
Individualised sessions
Access to supportive WhatsApp groups
Helpful shared resources and discussions
Written assessments (useful for medical or educational needs)
Articles and guidance written by me
A friendly, diverse community of families supporting one another
We also host:
Mindfulness art & craft groups
Women’s circle events
Parent support gatherings
Seasonal celebrations and community activities at the stables
My hope is that Heartland becomes a safe, inspiring space where both children and adults feel seen, supported, and connected.
If any of this resonates with you, or if you feel something is missing in your life and you’d like to explore a new path, please feel free to get in touch or come visit us. I’d love to meet you.
Stay warm, take care of yourselves, and — most importantly — stay positive. ❤️
