I have some new Hoopers classes starting in April from my small dog training business based in Bosbury,Herefordshire. Hoopers is a bit like dog agility except a bit gentler! This is a great opportunity to build a really strong bond with your dog whilst having good fun along the way.

After all that thinking I just wanted valka to have a bit of fun and do a course with a change of sides as I am finding this is really helping my clients figure out what their dog needs from them when training and running a course

Valka is just learning the near side of the barrel here it will get more fluid as time goes on but as a first go applying it we were very happy as you can hear

SUMMER 2024 HOOPERS CLASSES STARTING IN MID/LATE JUNE NEAR LEDBURY, HEREFORDSHIRE!
Build a magical bond with your dog
Have you been hearing the word Hoopers more and more in conversation when you ask about dog sports? Do you fancy having a go at it with your own dog?
Hoopers is a good fun accessible sport for all. Hoopers is a dog sport a bit like Agility but the difference is that it is a low impact sport for a dog. This means that all dogs can give it a go - from 6 months old to older dogs that still have a young attitude! You handle your dog at a distance from you, which is built up over time and with teamwork. You and your dog will learn how to navigate the obstacles of Hoopers which includes hoops, barrels, tunnels, and also Touch and Go mats. When doing a sport like this, using positive training, magical bonds can form between owner and dog and that is what I strive to see.
I am going to be starting classes in late June set in the beautiful countryside near Ledbury, Herefordshire. Come along and try the new but fantastic sport of Hoopers with me. There will be laughter and lots of fun to be had.

Loki doing some work on his barrels. His owner mentioned that he was not getting it at home and the fact he was struggling to know what to do with a barrel. So sometimes we have to adapt and change and I find it helps dogs if there is a hoop either side and instead of just having the barrel. Then the dog learns to just go round it the opposite side to the handler. As you can see this worked a treat.

I gave my progression class the barrel challenge as a bit of fun and they both did amazingly well. Both owners went at their dog’s pace which was lovely to see and shows understanding of dog training.
