I’m enquiring if there is a dog sitter on the estate anyone could recommend or we have just registered our puppy on Borrow My Doggy. I work from home with him, so we don’t need anything for work etc just for things like cinema/day trips etc where me and my sons are out together and can’t take him.

We borrowed through BorrowMyDoggy before getting him and so are also open if there’s anyone who would like the company of a puppy/dog sometimes but can’t commit full time. We used the site as my sons were struggling with isolation/anxiety and it helped them massively before getting our own pup.

He’s been great with my teenage sons, young nieces and loves my parents but they are both quite far away. Would suit a family or maybe someone retired who just wanted some company, fun and lots of cuddles without commitment.

We wouldn’t impose as it’s not a need as such but would also be happy to work around you and for it not to be one sided. Would be happy to pay of course but if he could benefit someone who maybe needs some company or some laughs and would like to build a bond, be part of his life, I would prefer to do that and know he’s been really loved and having fun when not with us.

(Obviously goes without saying we adore him and would want to meet etc and make sure it’s a good fit). X

☀️HOT PAVEMENT WARNING☀️

Yes, even on warm days, in certain conditions, pavements can become hot enough to cause pain, discomfort and even burn your dog’s paws. Although you may think your dog’s paw pads are quite tough, it’s important to remember that they are still made of skin and can be just as sensitive as the bottom of your feet.

On sunny days, pavements can often be deceptively hot and will usually be much warmer than the air outside. Dark and dense pavements easily absorb heat from the sun and are good at keeping hold of it and releasing it slowly. Natural surfaces, including grass, tend to be much cooler, as plants release water to help cool themselves down.

🔸HOW TO CHECK🔸
The best way to tell if a pavement is too hot for your dog to walk on is to place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too painful for your hand, then it’s too painful for your dog’s paws.

If you notice that your dog is limping, looking uncomfortable or whimpering, then look at the bottom of their paws and check the temperature of the pavement with the back of your hand. If your dog’s paws look red, swollen or blistered then it’s important that you quickly take them off the hot pavement and contact your vet for advice as soon as possible.
