So proud of Shenzi today. She got a 6th at plantation park. Not bad for a dog that was petrified of people! It's hard to believe this was the dog that wouldn't come out from behind the sofa. At that time I had no intention of competing in obedience and would never have believed we would be competing and working whole rounds at big busy obedience shows. ❤️

This morning was an early start with the 6am pack walk. ☀️😎

I will be doing the same again tomorrow
followed by the 1-2-1 training sessions done indoors or in the shade and short toilet walks for the dogs who need letting out. 😊

Remember your dog walker is not being lazy when they refuse to walk your dog during the heat of the day. They have your dogs best interest at heart and they actually find themselves doing more for less by the time they have driven round letting everyone's dogs out separately and along with doing smaller pack walks extra early.

I thought I'd show off Zen's achievement! Today we got a 6th at West Suffolk obedience show. ❤️🥳

Shenzi was also half a point away from being in the run-offs with us. Unfortunately she just wasn't as motivated as what she could have been.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently! I've been super duper busy and I keep forgetting to take pictures and videos.

Here's an extremely cute pick from a couple of weeks back during a little puppy socialization walk with Zen and Remi kissing. 🥰 😆

I am slowly building up a client base in stradbroke and planning on getting another pack walk going out that way soon. 😁

Just a little reminder that there's no pack walk or afternoon sessions this Thursday because I have a funeral to attend.
I will still be doing my early morning clients that day but that will be it.

A question I get asked regularly is how do I introduce new dog's to the pack without any fights from happening?

So this is how I do it;

Dog's must follow without giving each other eye contact before they meet and greet. Arguments and conflict between pack members is avoided by introducing new dog's in this way. Because it gives everyone's energy levels a chance to come down to a relaxed level and no one is challenging anyone.

A big mistake I see people make is when owners let their dogs go straight up to each other and let them sniff face to face. This will quite often result in an argument between both dog's. Even if both dog's are known to be friendly. Eye contact and high energy levels creates an unbalanced situation for dogs. Particularly between dog's that have never met. Eye contact in the dog world means conflict.

Instead we want all dog's to concentrate on walking next to each other without any interaction. Then when everyone is relaxed and ready I give them the release command (okay) and then they are allowed to interact. Bum to bum sniffing is encouraged, although it may seem odd to us humans it is a hand shake in the dog world. 😂🐾 Bum to bum is seen as a much more of a polite way of saying hello instead of face to face sniffing.
