*** ATTENTION ALL DOG OWNERS ***
We are seeing a run of poorly pups at the moment, most have had a short bout of vomiting followed by diarrhoea (varying from watery to sloppy π€’) and are taking several days to feel better.
There is no obvious cause for this as far as we can tell, so it is most likely a seasonal illness, likely linked to the better weather and more pets getting out and about.
πΎIf your pet is unwell, please don't worry. Make sure they have easy access to fresh water and feed them little and often of their usual diet. If they continue to vomit for more than a day, or are unable to keep water down, please call for a check over. If they have diarrhoea and it is not clearing after a couple of days, or is linked with vomiting, or you see fresh blood, then please call for an appointment.
πΎIf your pet is well, please don't worry! There is no guarantee that going out for walks or socialising with other pets will make them unwell. Keeping them out of unknown puddles or piles and washing their feet once they're home will hopefully reduce any exposure. It's still important for them to get their exercise and brain stimulation!
πΎAnd finally, if your pet has been well but has diarrhoea on a walk (it happens to everyone at some point), clear what you can and if you have a water bottle available, please flush the area as much as you can.
