We often get asked why we don't repair dirty rugs.

There are a number of reasons for this, the main
ones being:

🦠 Biosecurity - all our washed rugs are treated with an antibacterial agent as standard. We wash rugs from hundreds of yards, we don’t want any risks of cross contamination.

💩 It is unfair to expect our team to work intricately with rugs covered in mud and poo!

⚙️ Our sewing machines don't like mud!

🧼 The repairs are much better when done on clean rugs.

To help navigate this we offer an efficient rug cleaning service prior to repairs.

🧐Combined Training?????
Easy.... Its a competition that has 2 phases, Phase 1 is a Dressage Test and Phase 2 a Show Jumping Round. Scores combined ...best score wins.

💡In May 2024 we REDUCED our prices, and in January 2025, we made a promise to our customers to continue to honour those prices for the whole of this year – but why?

💜We understand that times might be challenging and we wanted to give our customers the peace of mind that our services remain first-class but affordable for everyone.

🌍 We have invested over £50,000 in the last year into all brand new machines, equipment, and our warm air drying room - helping us reduce our energy costs and our environmental impact. This has also allowed us to pass these savings on to our valued customers.

🩵All we ask in return is that our customers share their experiences so that we can continue to be the leading rug wash and repair providers in Central Scotland.

🪡 Is it worth fixing?
🩵You might be pleasantly surprised – our machinist is a rug-fixing wizz and we pride ourselves in keeping our costs as low as we can – but in the rare cases where repairs are going to cost more than £20 we will always give our clients a call to ask if you would like us to fix the rug, or if you want to keep your money and put it towards a replacement.

🚙 Simply drop your rugs off at one of our drop off points, contact one of our agents, or if you are in the EH or KY postcode then we can collect them from your door.

☀️🌥We’ve done a lot of rug putting on and taking off in the last few weeks and it is easy to pop them over a gate, or fold them on the floor during the periods of time they are not in use.

❗️This of course is a practical and time-saving solution, but once you have finished using your rugs for the season, leaving them for long periods of time outside can actually cause damage to them.

❗️Here are some of the reasons why:

ℹReduced durability
Rugs that are motionless but exposed to weather conditions can suffer from reduced durability.

ℹExposeure to UV rays
UV rays from the sun can weaken and break down the fibers in the rug fabric, making it susceptible to tears and damage.

ℹA hive of bacteria
Rugs that are not completely dry on the inside/get damp can create a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

ℹWear and Tear
Constant exposure to the elements, including wind and friction from branches or fences, can cause the rug's material to wear down and deteriorate.

ℹReduced Effectiveness
The waterproof and breathable layers of a rug can be damaged by exposure, reducing its ability to protect the horse from the weather.

ℹNesting ground
Insects, wasps, spiders and even mice are all looking for a place to call home at this time of year – and your rug might provide the ideal place to stay!

We recommend investing in your winter rugs by getting them cleaned, correctly dried, repaired and reproofed so that you can store them at room temperature away from direct sunlight, ready for next season.
