Yesterday I met two donkeys. Lily who has never been halter trained and Maisie (pictured) who is very timid. No one knew quite how either would react and both were superstars, putting many horses to shame! Please ensure you include your donkeys dentals along with your horses, they need to eat comfortably too.

🤠 While some are away enjoying DBSUK hospitality this weekend back here in DBSNI headquarters donkey teeth have been top of the agenda with little Maisie not only meeting Gemma but behaving so well she’s put our very own Dave the Rave to shame. 🤠

On Monday, I attended a BAEDT Practical Assessment Day in York. Whilst I'm only required to attend these once every 3 years, I like to go yearly. These days are so valuable on more than just an assessment level. Catching up with everyone is great and it's so helpful getting to hear everyone's views on different mouths, because whilst we all have varying opinions/experience, in the end, we all want the sane result - your horse's to have happy mouths.

Dental checks are so important for donkeys too! Just because they look like they are eating OK, it doesn't mean that there's nothing going on inside their mouths. Luckily Dave the Rave and Zebedee got checked over by a great vet and the problems I spotted have now been sorted, letting them eat pain free.

Just a few donkeys today! Remember, donkeys teeth need rasped just as often as their pony friends. Just because they aren't ridden, doesn't mean they don't have dental issues.

Thanks to Casey Phair Equine Dental Technician for her help today 💪. I couldn't have done it without you.
