Something a little different…. 🐢

This week, Mrs T (who is 70 years old!!) came in to be microchipped with one of our nurses. Now, if she ever goes on a wander and is scanned, we can easily reunite her with her owner.🐢🫶🏼

Last post for Vet Nurse Awareness Month… but by no means least, here we have Amy! 🐾
Amy joined the practice in November last year and is mainly based at our Street branch. She has worked in the veterinary industry since 2009 and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014.

Here, Amy can be seen placing an intravenous catheter prior to a general anaesthetic. This is an important part of patient care, helping to ensure patient safety and allowing us to easily administer any medications or intravenous fluids required during the procedure.

Amy says her favourite areas of nursing are caring for and nursing medical inpatients. 🩺💚

Here we have Tracey! 💚🐾

Tracey trained at a veterinary hospital in Bristol and then joined the team in 2008.
She now works part time with us while also managing a smallholding and caring for her young family, which certainly keeps her busy outside of work!

In this photo, Tracey is carrying out a blood pressure check during a nurse led consultation. Monitoring blood pressure is an important part of maintaining our patients’ health and wellbeing, particularly for our more senior and geriatric patients, helping us ensure readings remain within healthy limits.💚

Next up is Becky! Becky joined the team in 2021 as an Animal Nursing Assistant and has since gone on to complete her training at college to become a qualified nurse. Her time is split 50:50 between our Langport and Street branches.💚

Her favourite areas within nursing are assisting with scans alongside Hermione at our Street branch which she can be seen doing here with the lovely Ben during his cardiac scan. Alongside this, Becky also enjoys carrying out nurse clinics and meeting all of your wonderful pets! 💚🐾

Next up is Mary-Anne 💚🐾

Mary-Anne has been part of the team for over 20 years (practically forever!). She officially qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2009 and enjoys all aspects of nursing, with a particular passion for wound healing and care.

Here she is carrying out a nurse clinic and redressing a wound for one of our patients who has been in recently for regular dressing changes. Mary-Anne also processes insurance claims for our Langport branch and has a special interest in running nurse-led diabetic clinics, as she is a diabetic herself. 💚
