Hi all- I just wanted to say a BIG thankyou for anyone who has booked with me or enquired this last year since creation.🙏
Unfortunately the business has proven NOT to be sustainable to operate in this way, (as mobile services) so for the moment I will no longer be offering home visits.
I was hoping to build a bigger client base in the local area, but the algorithms seems to be leading me further and further away from home, and it is not offsetting the costs required to run, because I want to keep it really affordable for you 🥹
I LOVE meeting clients and new pets, I love being able to help in a way that is outside of the vet practice which has been my bread and butter for 10 years!!

Incident report: refusal to accept identity as dangerous dog, believes is a instead is a spider 🕷️🕸️ with weird skeleton lady- accompliss.
Suspect refused to take mug shots, invoked section 'puppy-dog-eyes clause' and established manipulation techniques such as full on sad ears and sulky bottom lip.

Interview took a turn when suspect initiated intimidation techniques such as weaponised dog breath. Did wish to antagonist but had to intervene when suspect began to chew off own limbs.

Sent to psych. Interview terminated Thurs 31st Oct.

Little Diego long tongue is one of my lovely regulars from Ilkeston. 🩷 He was perfectly matched to his owners a few years ago when a rescue centre matched him to a wonderful elderly couple who were looking for a small companion. The owners make use of a mix of in-house support, which includes me popping round for a mini checkup on Diego, bath, brush and nail trim every 6-8 weeks, and good chat with the owners ☕🥰 If you know an OAP who may benefit from a similar service at discounted rate ❗please get in touch 🩷

Was absolutely thrilled to be able to meet some beautiful rescue donkeys amongst some other rescue animals kept by the owner at the holiday cottage just visited in Wales! Meeting animals all shapes and sizes brings me so much joy, you can never tire of it or meet enough of them!!
This amazing picture of cheekyness was captured by my partner!!
If you love donkeys I can also recommend a visit to The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary in Cornwall https://g.co/kgs/cp6qDRt if you ever get the chance. Lovely souls 💖💖

Our 3 seconds of summer has arrived don't miss it!🌞🌻
A hutch will simply be too hot today‼️
Here are my ferrets having a ice lolly fit for a carnivore! 🐯😋
⭐Salmon oil- their favourite, full of omega- 3 for supporting cell function in joints, eyes and brain especially
⭐Eggs - high quality protein and will help ferrets reach their high protein diet goals
⭐Water to increase intake on these hot days as my ferrets definitely don't drink enough, often need reminding by showing them fresh running water.
⭐Hand feeding to increase bond with your pets
All frozen to provide enrichments and feeling cool 😎 That's Niffler licking his lips 👅

Yes!! This is absolutely of my soapbox topics!! Buckle In!! 😁😁
I would say 80% of the harness's I see in practice are ill fitting and positively damaging.
For most owners, harness's will actually encourage pulling and reactivity as the nature and shape of this walking format puts the dog ahead of you and control, vs a short slip lead for example. The harness was literally designed to aid dogs in pulling carts and sledges.
You will rarely to never see a dog trainer recommending a harness for better control!

I really hope with education the popularity of harness's, or at least poorly fitted harness's the low chest/ forelegs will soon change!!

So why do we pick them?
One of the main brands, I won't name, but yes the chunky black one with the really cute customisable Velcro tags down the side and handle on top, as seen in the ❌ pic, are definitely fashionable, and the reflective tags are useful for visibility at night.

Unfortunately they are definitely one of the worst for restricted movement, painful pressure on the shoulder joints, causing mal-formed posture and misaligned walking. I believe it is popular because it looks well made and secure, but there is nothing to stop clever doggo's escaping out of it backwards once they work it out!! I have witnessed this happen in a carpark and in vet reception...twice! 🙈
We all know when our dogs are really really incentivised to do or NOT want to do something suddenly they get 10x cleverer, faster and more slippery!!😂

The loose fitting harness's can also slob to one side meaning lopsided weight when running, again, is dangerous for our dogs joints and can reignite old tears and injuries.

Another safety aspect of harness is rigourous weight testing, so I do recommend branded harnesses in general. Copycat harnesses can have cheaper loops, material and buckles and have been known to snap on pulling dogs. This may leave you with a loose dog who was likely trying to get to a distraction when the harness broke and is going to chase it!! Accidents can certainly happen in this way including road traffic incidents.

Y front harness's are certainly for the win, IF a harness is a must for you. Personally advocate a slip lead for training and find that a properly fitted slip lead with the safety stopper is the safest transport, which I would always chose with a reactive or aggressive patient to keep everyone safe for better control 👍

IF you are struggling with pulling and in the training phase, a gencon or halti nose collar will help you get control while you work on the basics of heel training.

Let's free those legs, prevent pressure on shoulder joints which can cause misalignment, pain and skin sores, and let out patients. Give them a chance to succeed with the right care and products 💜💜
