🐾Hello! I’m Rocky…🐾

❤️I’m a 8 year old Jack Russell! I’ve had a difficult time recently and now I need a family who are dedicated to me… I need a little extra support but I’m a lovely boy with so much love to give! As part of my rehoming process the adopters will get an opportunity to talk to a behaviourist to discuss how to support me best, so you won’t need to worry about not understanding me!❤️

🐶I love my toys and going on adventures… But unfortunately I’m being over looked!🐶

🥰Find out more about me here, please read my full description before applying for me -

Good morning.
I noticed this issue was starting to escalate yesterday regarding Alabama Rot which is something dogs can pick up and be fatal especially when walking in wet muddy woods and entering muddy pools of water - With this in mind I will stop using wooded areas for the walks for the time being and will stick to the fields until we see this being resolved! This may mean a little more time to travel to site, but will be worth it knowing they are ok and in no risk of infection!
Alabama rot (CRGV) is still poorly understood and there’s no guaranteed prevention or vaccine, the practical advice is to follow a set of risk-reduction and early-detection practices. These don’t eliminate risk — but they help reduce it and give your dog the best chance if exposed.

Preventative Practices for Dogs
• Avoid very muddy or waterlogged / woodland areas — Especially in wetter months (winter through spring), since many cases occur when dogs are walked in wet, muddy environments.
• Wash and dry your dog after walks, especially if they’ve been through mud or water — Pay special attention to paws, legs, belly, lower chest, and under-belly. Cleaning off mud may reduce exposure to whatever environmental trigger is involved.
• Inspect your dog’s skin regularly — A daily or frequent check of legs, paws, belly and overall coat for any unusual sores, redness, ulcers or skin changes helps catch early signs.
• Be alert for early symptoms beyond skin lesions — If you notice lethargy, appetite loss, changes in drinking/peeing, vomiting or other signs of illness after a walk, get veterinary advice promptly.
• Prefer cleaner, well-drained walking routes when possible — Open fields or paths rather than deep woodland/muddy terrain may carry lower risk.
