ABOUT ME 🐾

Hi, I’m Heather! I’ve worked with and had dogs my entire life, especially larger breeds. A few years ago, I also owned a dog hotel, helping to expand my understanding of dog and pack behaviour.

Now, my goal is to help anyone and everyone who needs it! ❤️

I know how valuable and useful having a dog can be for your mental health and wellbeing, but sometimes you and your dog may need some help together. Whether it be recall, lead pulling, aggression or anxiety, I can help!

I carried out my behaviourist training with the British College of Canine Studies back in 2020 but as Covid took ahead, other responsibilities became a priority! I may not have certificates up to my eyeballs but that is well reflected in my prices.

I want to give people a local, friendly, accessible and pocket friendly option for those needing a helping hand.

Yesterday, I met Dave & Lola and their lovely owner Phoebe for the first time! 🥰

Dave, a gorgeous chocolate Lab, and Lola, a beautiful Staffie/Lab, are two very excited doggies who just want as many cuddles as they can get!

They’ve been jumping up, mouthing and more than a little over excited when greeting people at the door. Phoebe wanted to work with me to get this behaviour under control.

Together, we’ve worked on an actionable, step by step plan to get Dave and Lola to wait to be greeted and not overwhelm any visitors by jumping up and demanding attention. ✅

I’m going to be working with this lovely lot over the next few weeks and I’m very excited to see how we progress. Stay tuned for updates!

Today I had the pleasure of working with Bella, a gorgeous 17 month old American Bull Dog, and her owner Lisa! 🐶

Bella was having trouble staying calm when guests arrived; jumping up, barking and getting very over excited which, given her growing size, was starting to become a problem for little ones in the family.

Lisa is a first time owner of an American Bull Dog and was understandably quite anxious and desperate to find someone to help Bella show her love without getting too boisterous and overexcited.

Today was our second session together and we’ve come so far already! We worked together to create a plan of action starting with keeping her on a loose, long lead in the house/garden when she’s around children.

I’ll be going back to Lisa in a few weeks to see how her and Bella are getting on with the plan and tips I gave her but I’m so pleased with the process we’ve made already! 😊

Having children and a larger dog can be a struggle sometimes, and potentially dangerous as your dog may not realise their size, they just want a cuddle!
