🎇Fire Works 🎆

🎃Although we love this time of year, for our pets, firework season can be a very scary time. It is estimated that 45% of dogs in the UK show signs of fear when they hear fireworks

💗Here are our top tips for keeping things calm as possible for your pets during this time 💗

🔥Walk dogs before it gets dark and keep cat flaps closed in the evenings in case of flight risks
🔥Keep curtains closed and the TV or radio on to help drown out the noise
🔥Licky mats or a long lasting chew may help to keep your pet calm
🔥Make a safe place for your pet in the house- a comfy little den in their favourite part of the house
🔥Make sure all microchip details are up to date in-case of escapees getting themselves lost
🔥If your pet gets particularly anxious speak to your vet we have a wide range of supplements and medications that can be used to keep your furry family members calm. Please get in touch if you require further advice about this and follow these links for more information

🐭Rat poison
❌Xylitol can be found in chewing gum and some health bars
🍫Chocolate

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of seeing the gorgeous Tilly for her spay! 💜

Tilly first came to us with a false pregnancy, which we treated before moving ahead with her procedure. Here she is, enjoying some well-deserved cuddles with vet Niamh and then resting up like a superstar after her surgery. 🌟

✨ Spaying has many important health benefits, including:
• Preventing unwanted pregnancies and false pregnancies
• Eliminating the risk of pyometra — a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus
• Reducing the risk of mammary (breast) cancers

Well done, Tilly! You were such a brave girl! 🐶💕

Meet the lovely Mali! 💜
Mali is one of our star patients, and we love seeing her for her monthly visits!

Mali was diagnosed with Addison’s disease last year — a condition where the body doesn’t produce enough essential hormones like cortisol. It can be life-threatening without proper treatment, but with regular care, pets like Mali can live happy, healthy lives.

Each month, Mali comes in for a blood test to check her electrolytes and gets an injection to help keep her feeling her best.

She’s a real trooper – always wagging her tail and stealing hearts! 🐾💉💪
