Gauntlet Birds of Prey – Eagle & Vulture Park is situated on Manchester Road, Knutsford, Cheshire. It’s is the largest bird of prey park in the north west of England with over 180 birds from 50 different species. We have meerkats, polecats and goats too. There’s a café, gift shop and covered picnic area plus picnic tables dotted throughout the grounds. We have a large wooden fort for children of a
ll ages.
12pm – Stop at the Vulture Restaurant
The day kicks off with an informative Vulture talk, where we talk to you about the plight of Vultures across the world, and how Gauntlet Birds of Prey work alongside Gauntlet Conservation Trust to help protect these creatures in the wild.
12.30pm – Get seated for the Flying Display
Take a seat and be prepared to duck as Gauntlet’s spectacular birds whizz around our display arena! Our cheeky Vultures will spill into the arena in search of mischief and some of our noisy residents may have a thing or two to tell you. Enjoy the show!
2pm – Get ready to meet some feathered and furry friends
A chance to meet some of Gauntlet’s residents – up close! Feel the soft feathers of a deadly Owl, meet one of our more smelly residents and watch one of nature’s greatest predators devour it’s lunch (optional – just close your eyes)!
3pm – Prepare yourself for a Flying Display with a difference
The Spring, Summer and Autumn Display
Different from our 12.30pm display, see a new set of birds take to the skies. Our flying finale is a truly spectacular experience, that will have you on the edge of your seat. With mixed species from all over the world, prepare to be amazed!
The Winter Display
Be prepared to watch our magnificent Eagles take flight! During the Winter months (November to December) when the park is open ‘Weekends Only’ and during February Half Term our 3pm flying finale is a smaller, scaled-down version of the Spring, Summer and Autumn show and is without music. This is to do with seasonal changes like the weather, it becoming darker earlier and for the welfare of our African birds. Children’s activities:
Throughout the park we have a Birds of Prey Passport Trail (pick up a passport at the shop/café), they can meet and feed our goats (purchase feed at the café/shop) and watch our cheeky Meerkats. There’s a spacious wooden fort play area with swings and sand pit adjacent to the café and picnic area. PLEASE NOTE: All children must be supervised whilst playing in the play area and throughout the park, and are the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian. The park is suitable for all ages and is a great day out for everyone. There’s seasonal events, birds of prey experiences, you can become a member or sponsor a bird. Check out our website for more info.
