Hi, I’m Ruby Milne; a postgraduate-qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, currently completing my Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy. I specialise in equine performance and rehabilitation, supporting horses at every level - from happy hackers to competitive athletes.
I graduated with First Class Honours in Equine Science (BSc) from Aberystwyth University, where I focused my research on the equine microbiome and nutrition. Since then, I’ve managed full livery yards and worked with a wide range of horses, always prioritising individualised, optimal care.
Alongside my professional work, I’ve produced my own horses to compete at amateur level British Eventing and British Dressage. This hands-on experience in training, riding, and managing horses is a key part of what sets me apart as a Veterinary Physiotherapist. I understand first-hand the physical and mental demands placed on horses in a variety of disciplines, as well as the subtle signs that something might not be quite right; whether it’s a change in way of going, a drop in performance, or behavioural changes under saddle. This depth of practical experience allows me to work more closely with owners, riders, and trainers to create treatment and rehabilitation plans that are not only clinically effective but also realistic, rider-informed, and tailored to the horse’s specific workload and goals. By combining my scientific knowledge with a rider’s perspective, I offer a well-rounded, empathetic approach to physiotherapy that supports both performance and partnership.
I’m passionate about helping horses move and feel their best, whether they’re rehabbing from injury or looking to perform at their peak. I understand how even subtle dysfunctions can affect a horse’s performance, comfort, and quality of life. Through physiotherapy, I aim to address the root cause, not just the symptoms, supporting both physical and psychological well-being.
I offer evidence-based rehabilitation using a range of manual therapies, electrotherapies, and exercise-based treatments. I take a whole-horse approach, working closely with vets and other professionals to design personalised treatment plans that support not just recovery, but return to a normal, enriched life with turnout, routine, and stimulation.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me walking my two whippets, messing with my young horses, or training my childhood pony, Sparky!
If you’re interested in how veterinary physiotherapy could help your horse, whether for injury recovery, performance, or routine maintenance, feel free to reach out. I’d love to help.
