Me then VS now. The first photo was taken over 20 years ago, back in the days when painting your walls bright orange was a trend 🤣. I have always been passionate about dogs since I brought my first pup home and still am ❤️ A (late) happy

This little lady is the reason I love what I do. It's been a joy seeing her warm up to me in the last few weeks. All it took was a bit of patience, not forcing any interactions and allowing her to approach in her own time (oh and a lot of liver paste 🤣). Giving our dogs choice is powerful. I love that my 1-2-1 dog walks give me the flexibility to meet each dog's needs as an individual.

⭐ Progress, Not Perfection ⭐

There's a lot of pressure from social media to always show your dog behaving at their best, but perfection isn't realistic. Yes, the end goal is exciting. But even when a dog reaches their end goal - whatever that may be - you'll often see regression at some point along the training journey.

Take my dog for example - I've spent countless hours perfecting her recall and yet just recently she decided she didn't want to listen when I called her. Guess what? We're back at square one; she's back on lead and we're training again.

Don't let the goal of 'perfection' blind you to celebrating the small wins of progress. Focus less on the final result and more on the journey.

Sweet Bonnie at our session yesterday - learning the basics of how to walk nicely on a lead, recall (which she smashed), lay down and jumping up. She's a fast learner and I was amazed she hadn't done any of it before. Well done 👏🏼

Often referred to as the 'Trifecta of Calm', licking, sniffing and chewing are natural, stress-relieving activities. Alongside ensuring your dog gets enough sleep, it's important to incorporate enrichment into your dogs routine. What's your favourite enrichment activity to do with your dog?
