A gorgeous morning at the yard 🐦🎶☀️

I’ve absolutely loved working with Orla over the last few months and seeing her progress. Seeing that shift in confidence and understanding is my favourite part of the job.

Because of that, I’ve decided to open up a new space for a schooling livery.

If you’d like help with your horse, whether that's on the ground or ridden, building confidence, strengthening foundations or furthering their education, feel free to message me to chat about whether we would be a good fit.

How did we make that happen? 👇

1. Confidence
We didn’t just point at jumps and hope for the best.

We started small with walk and trot poles, so both horse and rider could relax, find their rhythm, and gain confidence in the open space first. Only once horse and rider felt comfortable did we raise the poles.

2. Simplicity
Then we made it easy to understand.

Adding a pole before the jump gave them a clear marker to aim for, stopping the rushing and making everything smoother.

3. Calm
Then we focused on staying calm afterwards too.

Charging off after a jump wasn't the goal. We worked on landing, rebalancing, and coming back quietly. We circled after the fence when needed to regain rhythm and balance.

4. Putting it all together
Then we joined it all up.

One fence became two…then a course...then suddenly the thing that felt months away was happening in one session!

The plan wasn’t even to jump in this lesson.
The plan was to build the foundations, grow confidence, and let progress happen naturally.

And when the basics are right… everything starts to click 👌

It’s foundations, not forcing it.
Good horses don’t need rushing.
Confidence changes everything.

If jumping feels scary, messy, or out of reach right now… you might just need the right steps to help you get there!

Happy New Year 💗
