🐾 Two kittens, one family — meet brother-and-sister Chori & Zoro! 🐾

These little kittens are thriving in their new home and enjoying the Ultimate Wellness Plan, which gives them unlimited vet and nurse consultations plus year-round protection to help them grow up happy and healthy. 💛

On their recent visit, they were so brave getting microchipped, an important step that’s legally required and helps keep them safe. 🐱✨

Their owner is so dedicated, learning everything she can to make her home safe and positive for both her kittens and the family. Her care is making settling in much smoother for Chori and Zoro. 🐾

They’re growing fast, and we can’t wait to see them and their humans again soon! 🩵 🐾 🩷

🐾 This little trooper ran into trouble — and came out showing us how brave pups really are! 🐾

Remember the post on the Knaresborough Facebook group about a dog who had an accident at Jacob Smiths Park? That was Marley — a playful pup who ran into a hidden wire fence and fractured his leg. His owner shared the warning to keep other dog walkers safe. 💙

When Marley arrived, Phil immediately suspected something serious. X-rays confirmed the fracture, and it was so reassuring to know this complex surgery could be done here thanks to Phil’s advanced surgery skills.

Marley stayed with us that afternoon for pain relief before heading home to prepare for early surgery the next morning.

After the operation, the team gave Marley the TLC he needed, and huge thanks to his owners for the amazing care at home — it’s making all the difference. ✨

We’ve checked in recently, and Marley is doing really well! The challenge now? Keeping him rested — even on three legs, he thinks he can jump at the TV whenever someone he wants to “chat to” appears! 🙈🐶

He still has a way to go, but he’s making great progress. We’ll be checking in very soon to support him through the rest of his recovery. 🐾💙

🚀 Meet Rocket! 🚀

Rocket’s family were in Knaresborough last week visiting his grandma when the poor lad suddenly wasn’t feeling well. He came to us with a very upset tummy and was looking really glum. 💔

Phil gave him a full health check, popped him on some much-needed fluids and medication, and the rest of the team surrounded him with plenty of TLC. Before long, he was brighter than when he first came in — even managing a wag of that lovely spaniel tail again. 🐾✨

We checked in the very next day and were so pleased to hear he was continuing to do well. His lovely owner even sent us some brilliant photos (which we’re sharing with you now!) showing Rocket back to his happy self. 💙

A huge thank you to Rocket’s owner for trusting us when they didn’t know us before, and for leaving such a wonderful Google review — it really means the world. ❤️

Here’s to Rocket, back on his paws and making the most of his holiday (and grandma cuddles!) 🐶🎉

We checked in on Perry this week to see how he’s getting on after his cranial wedge closing orthopaedic surgery 🐾💙.
It’s a big procedure with a long recovery, so we started with remote video post-op checks to save him any unnecessary travel.

This week, chatting with Perry’s owner over WhatsApp, we were delighted to receive this brilliant photo, captioned:

“Go on, take the lead off! 😉”

🐾 A Huge Thank You from All the Team at Your Family Vets 🐾

This week has been one of our busiest yet — with full surgery days and more than a few emergencies along the way. We’re incredibly grateful for our wonderful clients who have supported us, shown patience, and left such fantastic reviews. Your kind words truly keep us going while we care for your pets (and you, our lovely humans, too!). 💙

🌟 Champ of the Day goes to the ever-patient Marley!
Marley came in for dental surgery yesterday and ended up needing a few teeth removed. While we had to tend to another very poorly dog, Marley waited calmly, keeping us company — and even lending a paw by helping water the sunflowers in our garden! 🌻🐶

We kept his human up to date every step of the way, and both of them showed such understanding and kindness. Here’s Marley post-op, looking very ready to get home for some well-deserved TLC.

Muffin the puppy decided yesterday that muffins aren’t just for humans… 🐶🧁

At tea time, she spotted a golden opportunity and helped herself to a muffin or two (bun cases and all!) before her owner could whisk the tin away.

Thankfully, her owner acted immediately and phoned us — exactly what you should do if your dog gets hold of chocolate or other human treats, as they can be dangerous for our furry friends.

Quick thinking meant she was rushed straight to us, where Phil gave her some special medicine to bring those baked goods back up. She then moved on to the spa part of her afternoon — some very necessary TLC with Mel — while she offloaded the last of her stolen snacks.

Once we were happy that Muffin was an empty little pup, she trotted off home. This morning we checked in, and we’re pleased to report she was right as rain — enjoying her tea and snoozing like the baby she is.

A big paws-up to her owner for acting so quickly, and to Muffin… for being a super pup (even if her taste in afternoon snacks is questionable). 😉

🎩🐾 Move over, world – Rex is in the house! 🐾🎩

Last week, this handsome black Lab came in to be neutered – and took it all in his stride like the absolute superstar he is! 🐶✨

His owner sent us some adorable photos the very next day of him relaxing and recovering at home, rocking his buster collar like a true champ. 💪

We’re looking forward to seeing Rex again this week for his post-op check – and maybe a few more cuddles while we’re at it! 💛

🐾 From Bobby Dazzler to Oscar – A Happy Ending! 🐾

A few months ago, a very poorly stray cat was brought to us after some kind people found him in a bad way. They’d done everything they could to help, but with their own cat at home, they needed extra support.

After giving some advice on safely getting him into a carrier, we were able to assess and care for him. He was in need of a good wash, flea treatment, and… as it turned out, neutering too!

With the help of Cats Protection, our team (special thanks to Val from Cats Protection and our own Fiona) nursed him back to health and got him settled into a foster home.

Originally nicknamed Bobby Dazzler, we’re thrilled to share that he’s now in his forever home – happily adopted and going by his new name… Oscar! 🐱❤️

We’ve also shared some lovely photos of Oscar in his new family home, kindly sent to us by Val from Cats Protection.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in giving this lovely boy the happy ending he deserves.

🐾 Say hello to Dotty! 🐾
This adorable little bundle of joy has recently joined our practice family! 🐶💛 Dotty is a Border Terrier x Lakeland Terrier, and she came in recently for her very first vaccination and puppy check.

She was super brave for such a little pup, and of course, melted everyone’s hearts while she was here. 🥰 Her lovely owner has signed her up to our Ultimate Wellness Plan, giving her the very best start in life.

We can’t wait for more cuddles over the next few weeks as Dotty comes in regularly for her socialisation visits and puppy weigh-ins.

🐈‍⬛ Thanks so much to Sparty’s owner for the lovely message to Lynne! Sparty was in recently and had a good chat (well, his human did!) with Lynne about some behaviour at home. She shared a few helpful tips — including how to avoid those early morning wake-up calls from Sparty 🙈She also recommended the toy you’ll see him loving in the photo and video we’re sharing. Great to see him doing so well!

🌾 Seth the Spaniel’s Brave Visit to the Vets! 🐾

Our lovely staff dog Seth joined Mel on her way into work yesterday after suddenly shaking his head like something had flown into his ear 👂💨. Mel’s family had sent her a video on Thursday showing the behaviour, and although things seemed to settle briefly, Seth had a restless night. After his early morning walk, it was clear something wasn’t quite right—so straight into the consult room he went to see Phil!

After a thorough (and slightly sore!) ear check, Phil managed to get right in and found the culprit: a pesky grass seed. With the fantastic support of our nursing team—and without the need for sedation—both Phil and Seth handled it like pros! 💪🐶

Mel was holding the fort front of house at the time (someone’s got to keep things running!), and truthfully… Seth is a little less brave when she’s in the room 😅 So maybe it worked out for the best!

There were a few Spaniel squeals, but overall he was a very brave boy. Once the seed was removed and his ear flushed, he was already looking more comfortable.

He’s now back in Mel’s care for the weekend , with strict instructions from Phil to have his ears rinsed with medication twice daily for the next few days 🧴🐾

A big shoutout to Mel’s family for acting quickly — grass seeds can travel and cause real issues, so if your dog starts shaking their head or acting uncomfortable around their ears, don’t wait to get them checked! Well done Seth ⭐️ 🐾
