First of all, a little bit about us … Glasgow Adoption Centre is ideally situated in the countryside, on the site of what was formerly Cardyke Farm. It is between Robroyston and the tiny village of Auchinloch, but easily accessible from the M80 motorway. Since the Centre was opened by “Take the High Road” actress Eileen McCallum in 1993, it has rescued and rehomed thousands of abandoned cats and k
ittens in the Glasgow area. The Centre is entirely run by friendly Cats Protection Staff, who have the responsibility for the welfare and re-homing of all the cats and kittens. The staff also rely on help from enthusiastic volunteers. Importantly, they also make valuable contributions on the educational side, by visiting local children's nurseries, schools and "Brownie" packs - encouraging cat welfare at an early age! All of our cats have been treated to our minimum veterinary standards, meaning that they have been examined by a veterinary surgeon, been vaccinated against flu, enteritis and chlamydia, treated against fleas, roundworm and tapeworm and also leave the centre microchipped. All cats over 4 months adopted from our centre will have been neutered before leaving our care. All cats from our centre also leave with four weeks free insurance cover with Petplan.

Glasgow Adoption Centre is situated in what was formerly Cardyke Farm. In 1993, Cats Protection transformed it into a large adoption centre for cats, cat owners and concerned parties in need in the Glasgow area. In between Robroyston and the village of Auchinloch, the site is the perfect combination of a rural, picturesque setting and easily accessible from the M80 motorway.
We are capable of housing up to 220 cats, in seperate and fully cleanable indoor pens with access to more private runs. Since opening, we have rescued and rehomed thousands of cats, been a source of advice to cat owners and concerned parties in our area and engaged with the local community in all things feline. Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity- a responsibility we take seriously by encouraging responsible and knowledgeable cat ownership in the cat owners of the future. As a charity, our work is dependent on the generosity and kindness of public support. This enables us to provide for the cats in our care, now and in the future. The work never stops, and we are grateful for the support we receive here.
Our centre is open 7 days a week, from 11am until 3pm. If you wish to adopt a rescue cat, are considering the idea or just want to come in to talk to us- please come and visit. Our team will be more than happy to help. Meet some of the cats ready for adoption before your visit. If you have any queries, concerns or just want to talk to us about something feline – give us a call on 0141 779 3341. Our phone line is operational between 9am and 4pm. For queries outside of these times please either call and leave a message (we will get back to you as soon as possible), email us at [email protected] or call the Cats Protecton helpline on 03000 12 12 12.
When you adopt with cats protection, you can be sure that you are receiving an animal companion that has been provided with the very best care and treatment during their time here. Every cat is treated to our minimum veterinary standards. This means that as well as receiving our daily care and attention (and pampering…) they are-
