🥰 We have some exciting news to share! 🥰

As many of you know, the topic of spiders being sold through pet shops and reptile shops can be quite controversial within the hobby. We completely understand why, and if we’re honest, we were a little unsure about it ourselves at first. And would never work with big chains

However, after spending time researching, asking questions, and having some really positive conversations, we’re happy to announce that we are now working with Charley at Stafford Aquatics Ltd! 🕷️❤️

For us, the welfare of our spiders will always come first. After getting to know Charley and learning more about how she cares for her animals, we felt confident that this was the right partnership for Fluffy Jumpers. She is incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely passionate about animal welfare, and really takes the time to ensure all of her animals receive the care they deserve.

What we love most is that Stafford Aquatics is a small family run business that shares many of the same values we do. These are exactly the kinds of people we are happy to work alongside. 🥰

So, if you’re local to the area, feel free to pop in and have a look! You might even spot some of our little Fluffy Jumpers spiders there. 🕸️✨

Thank you all for your continued support of our small business. It means the world to us. ❤️ xx Stafford Pets and Aquatics

🕷️ What Does Jumping Spider Trust Look Like? 🕷️
One of the questions I get asked the most is: "How do you handle your jumping spiders?"
The honest truth? It takes a lot of time, consistency, and an abundance of patience.
Just like us, every single spider has their own unique personality. Some prefer to be admired safely from inside their enclosures, while others absolutely love to come out and explore the world.
If you are looking to build a bond with your spood, here are a few of my top tips:
Respect their safe space: Many spiders will never willingly jump straight onto your hand while they are inside their enclosure and that is completely okay! That is their home and their sanctuary.

1. Let them come to you: Try opening the enclosure door and just waiting. Sit beside them, talk gently to them, and let them get used to the vibrations of your voice.

2. Go at their pace: Keep interactions short and sweet. Be slow, gentle, and never force things.
Offer a hand outside: Once they naturally venture out of their enclosure on their own terms, that is the perfect time to gently offer your hand.

3. Use gentle encouragement: If they need a tiny nudge, a very soft paintbrush can be used to gently guide them

As you can see in the video, Romeo chooses to come. He actually waits at the door for me, and I honestly don't think I’ll ever have another spider quite like him! 🥹🖤
But remember, building this level of trust doesn't happen overnight, and it might not even happen in a week. The absolute key is patience, slow movements, and staying calm. In their own time, they will choose.

Does your jumping spider love to explore, or are they more of a "look but don't touch" kind of character?😂❤️

🥰❤️ Just a little post to show that all babies grow at their own pace! These are all
Star lights 1st clutch ❤️🥰

Every spiderling in this photo is kept under the same conditions the same temperatures, the same care, and they’re all fed according to their moult stage and abdomen size.

As you can see, we currently have a mixture of instars: a few i4s, lots of i3s preparing to moult into i4, lots that have recently moulted into i3, and even a few little i2s still catching up.

This is why it’s impossible to determine a jumping spider’s age based purely on its instar. Every baby develops at its own pace and knows exactly when it’s ready to moult and grow. ❤️

Nature doesn’t follow a timetable, and that’s one of the things we love most about these amazing little spiders! They’re so fascinating and it’s just amazing watching them grow and change every Molt🥹❤️

A little post from us that we’ll probably only say once, because it’s been on our minds for a while ❤️

We completely understand that everyone has different budgets and preferences when it comes to setting up their jumping spider homes, and we would never pressure anyone into purchasing one of our enclosure bundles. The choice will always be yours.

However, we’d like to explain why our bundles are priced the way they are. Which tbh is very cheap compared to a lot of people!

Our female spider & enclosure bundle is £65 and our male bundle is £55. People
Question why the difference and we are happy to explain. Females live quite abit longer than males and with them having all the bright lighter colours everyone draws to the females so the males get left behind a lot when they deserve love too 🥹❤️
Included in that price is your spider, a custom sling enclosure, premium substrate and moss, a misting bottle, tweezers, randomly selected NFC care tag, Special Delivery postage, and all of the packaging materials needed to ensure your spider arrives safely. Which do not come cheap.

What many people don’t see is everything that happens behind the scenes. As a fully registered business, we pay 25% tax on EVERY sale. In the bundle it covered the cost of Special Delivery postage, boxes, packing materials, stickers, thank you cards, care guides, and all of the day to day costs that come with raising very healthy, well-socialised jumping spiders if we do say so ourselves.

Most importantly, there are the countless hours spent feeding, watering, cleaning, monitoring moults, answering messages, supporting new keepers, and helping people throughout their jumping spider journey. This isn’t something we do for a quick profit it’s something we genuinely love and are extremely passionate about.

Another thing worth mentioning is enclosure size. And this is what kicked this post off. While there are some fantastic larger enclosures available on the market, many of them are simply far too large for young slings. One of the reasons we created our own enclosures was because we struggled to find suitable sizes for younger spiders. Our priority has always been helping our babies continue to thrive in an appropriately sized environment. We recommend absolutely no bigger than a 6x6x9 for a sling. I5+

Going forward, if you’re purchasing one of our spiders without one of our enclosures of corse this has always and always will be absolutely fine. We will just kindly ask to see the enclosure you plan to use. This isn’t to be difficult or intrusive or to make you feel like you have to purchase one from us. It’s because the welfare of our spiders will always come first. If we don’t feel an enclosure is suitable, we may decline the sale.

We know this won’t suit everyone, and that’s absolutely okay. There are many wonderful breeders and keepers out there who you are welcome to go to But for us, the wellbeing of our spiders will always come before making a sale.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Fluffy Jumpers, trusts us with their jumping spider journey, and understands the love, care, and dedication that goes into every single spider we raise. We truly appreciate every one of you ❤️

At the end of the day, we’d rather keep every baby here with us than send one somewhere we don’t feel is suitable. Their welfare will always come before a sale, and that’s a promise we’ll never apologise for. ❤️
