☀️Show Jumping - Saturday 21st June - Cancelled ☀️

Unfortunately, due to the very hot temperatures over the next few days, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Unaffiliated Show Jumping.

As tomorrow is predicted to be a scorching 31 degrees, we understand that it isn’t ideal for people to be travelling and competing their horses during the hottest part of the day.

We will however published our dates for July shortly and resume our show jumping, and the points league, next month.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Last week may have been quiet here at CEC, but we was as busy as ever as Nikki joined the wonderful White Rose Riding Club for their first Junior Summer Camp of the year.

It was a brilliant, fun packed weekend full of laughs and of course, learning, as the junior club members participated in cross country, grid lessons, dressage, course riding, working equitation, gymkhana games both on and off the horse, and plenty of practical learning too.

It was great to introduce the riders to the sport of working equitation in particular, as we rode through the walk and trot WE dressage tests, and also had a go at a few of the obstacles from the Ease of Handling phase. The juniors were super keen to get involved and found the obstacles a lot trickier than they first thought!

Thank you so much to the wonderful White Rose Riding Club, and in particular, Jodie Pygas for organising, and coach, Jack Wainwright, for being at the helm of it all. And of course to all the brilliant club members and their parents for being great sports and all round good eggs!

Thank you to all the lovely combinations who joined us today for our June Pole Work Clinic!

It was certainly a hot one, but we were thankful for the lovely breeze in our outdoor arena which took the edge off the heat nicely. Our theme today was ‘less is more’ as we opted for a (fairly!) simple layout, that still offered plenty of variety in all three paces.

Well done everyone for producing such lovely work, and putting 100% effort in as always! Our next Pole Work Clinic date for July will be confirmed shortly. Have a lovely weekend!

A wonderful day of thrills, and some spills!! 🙈

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Mini Arena Show Cross today - we had great fun hosting this event, and enjoyed watching everyone push themselves out of their comfort zones throughout a tricky course!

We had some great laughs today in the ring, as we witnessed some very opinionated ponies, super saves, come back combos, speed demons and just very meaningful, personal rounds. It was brilliant to be part of everyone’s achievements.

Thank you to Craig Ellis Photography for travelling down to us once again to get all the very best action shots. All Craig’s photos can be viewed and purchased via his page - there are some corkers for sure!

Our next jumping event it out Unaffiliated Show Jumping plus Points League on Saturday 21st June which is also a Trailblazers Championships direct qualifier. Please see our event page for full details, with all entries taken on the day.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

After catching up on some much needed sleep it's time to say so many 'Thank You's' to everyone who joined us for our Spring In Hand and Ridden Show - Sunshine Tour Qualifier yesterday!

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with some much needed rain in the run up to the day, meaning the ground conditions were lovely and aside from the wind, we had beautiful sunshine all day long.

Our first 'Thank You' of course goes to all those who turned out to join us - those competing, the unpaid grooms, friends and supporters! We couldn't host these events without your continued support, and appreciate all the early mornings, high emotions, and efforts that go into show days! Everyone put so much effort into their presentation, and as always brought the energy and friendly spirit that we are lucky to have at CEC.

Thank You also to our wonderful judges - Laura Kenyon-brodie (In Hand) and Poppy Ronni Denton (Ridden) Both judges kept the rings running smoothly, and were complimented on the constructive feedback they gave their competitors. Always accommodating, professional and immaculately turned out - we cannot thank you enough for being such an integral part of the day!

A big shout out out the the CEC staff, Lucy Watson and Thea Hutton, who as always were jack of all trades on the day, assisting with the yard, stewarding and secretary duties, and being just general good eggs! Roped into afternoon stewarding duties, was the lovely, Katie Emmett who stepped in with a smile on her face to steward the In Hand Ring, and did a marvellous job in doing so! Also, a big thank you to my own son, Tom, who was up at the crack of dawn to help in the set up, running of the secretary box, and dismantling jobs at the end.

Craig Ellis Photography and Esme Wiles did a brilliant job covering both rings, barely getting time to stop all day, and certainly getting their steps in! Thank you so much - we cannot wait to see the photos!

Laura Lazenby at Food 4 U Catering kept our stomachs happy all day long, with plenty of hot drinks, bacon sarnies, hot dogs and more. A show day isn't a show day with our constant fuelling of food - thank you as always, Laura.

We would also like to say a heart felt thank you to everyone involved in helping with the incident in the lorry area involving the horse that had gone over the partition. Humberside Fire & Rescue Service attended the event very swiftly and professionally, and with the assistance of several key members on the ground, we are happy to say the horse was safely removed from the lorry. A check by the Rory at Malton Equine and a night at hotel CEC, and we are happy to report the horse is happy and doing well.

Our beautiful photos are of Stephanie Adele Duffin and her beautiful mare, Winnie, who was crowned Reserve In Hand Champion after a difficult year of rehab work, and Lisa Soanes and the very stunning, Rosie, who attended her very first show at 4 years old, to take In Hand Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion. Very well deserved!

The results of the show will be uploaded over the next day or two for those wanting to qualify for the Sunshine Tour Qualifiers - the first 4 placings qualify in the qualifying classes, and can't be passed down the line.

Thank you for a lovely first show of the season, and we hope to welcome you again soon,

Nikki

Plenty of parking available with good access, in separate parking field. Please note this is NOT held on our summer show ground.
