21/8/25 night arrival…
Pickles, 10.45pm arrival from .
Found entangled in a stored away football net.
All netting has now been removed, pain relief & anti inflammatories have been administered. Pickles is now settled for the night.
The lovely lady who not only found and transported this hedgehog, had not long just saved a woodland in Bridlington catching ablaze - parents, where are your kids? Children were seen lighting this fire!!
Truly, I don’t know what is wrong with some people; the cruelty and the stupidity is like a virus! Please teach your children about the devastation of fires, and the importance of nature.

124g hoglet Miguel arrived this afternoon from . Another sibling will be arriving tomorrow, possibly more. They have been seen pottering around in the daytime, without mum 😞
They are too small to survive alone at this size, so we are hoping any more of them will be found before it is too
late. Miguel is snug in a incubator that is awaiting sponsorship.
We will do the usual p**p tests tomorrow to check for endoparasites.

Just terrifying, crops, wildlife, destroying everything in its path; risk to life in general and to our amazing firefighters.
If you dump rubbish, ci******es or have picnic barbecues - you are most likely the cause of such fires.
THINK, be safe.

Why ?

This page has been formed for Hedgehog lovers everywhere. Hedgehogs are threatened with extinction; many causes such as, lack of hedgerows & wild areas, chemicals, floods & heatwaves, Cars, bonfires, strimmers, garden forks, complete enclosure of gardens.... For sometime now, I have taken in disabled HedgeHogs for life; gradually the public have heard & contacted me with injured, undersized, or birthed in dangerous surroundings. I realised that there was clearly a need for a rescue base here for Hedgehogs and a way to fund it was required as food and medicines soon add up!! Feeding costs are ongoing, Vets time only, is free with wildlife; the medication is billed to the rescue caring for them (not to the public bringing them in).So Lucky HedgeHog Rescue was formed. I hope with this group to help people understand HedgeHog needs, do's & don'ts, along with learning more about them & where they are seen... and of course, let's share pics of them too! Want to come & see the hogs one evening, please ring for an appointment- & a food donation when you come will be most gratefully received. Always needed: tinned cat food (non-fish), newspapers, lining wallpaper, indoor/outdoor hutches/cages... if you can help, please drop off at Paddock Cottage, Grimston Lane, Grimston HU11 4QE Tel: 07590756833 or 01964 529313 (available to receive Hedgehog rescue 24/7, leave a message if no answer) I also have an Amazon wishlist called LuckyHedgeHogs. Thanking all that have been assisting with supplies so far... i cannot rescue without your help, please keep up the good work & encourage others.... our humble HedgeHogs need our help!
