Last week, we welcomed some students from Leeds university for a tour of our site. They learned about some of our sustainability projects including our water recycling, beekeeping and obviously the growing of food. As usual, the highlight of their day was the pizza making with “Giuseppe,” as usual, topped with some homegrown veggies!

Rooted in Hull is an urban farm in the heart of Hull’s city centre. Our location makes it as easy as possible for the community to come together. If you’re already in town, we’re just a short walk away!

Wednesdays are for our Gather and Grow project, made possible by The Two Ridings grant we received and are available to everyone.

We meet from 10am every Wednesday and together we work the farm, decide what we might grow and always try to use what we produce in a hearty meal. The rewards are wide ranging for our community’s physical and mental wellbeing. See you next week?

Rootstock!

Our 4th annual summer gathering will feature live bands, comedy, a drumming workshop for everybody to join in, creative arts stalls and of course, lots of home cooked, homegrown produce to eat and drink including our now famous wood-fired pizzas.

We call our women’s group, Rooted in Sunshine and for the first month of them being back at Rooted every Thursday from 10am, the weather has been perfect for the name!
Open to all women, the group has several projects on the go, all themed around our love of growing and cooking food with an onus on offering opportunities for cohesion in our community. For the last month, the women’s group have been working on sprucing up the Rooted furniture, the tables in particular are looking great.
