My name is Charlotte and I am the owner of Hullhounds Dog Walking & Events. I have been involved in the dog world for almost 10 years now. I became a volunteer dog walker at a local dog rescue in my spare time some years ago. I then got involved with fundraising and helping out in the kennels. After a few years I was offered full time employment and worked in various roles including fundraising, m

anaging the kennels and running the daycare facility. I also took the dogs home on occasion to assess how they behaved in a home environment, and even fostered the odd few. This is how I came to be the proud Mummy of Misty, my amazing little Pug x Jack Russell. When I left the rescue I decided to focus on training with Misty as she was a little nervous and hadn't had much training when I adopted her. Since then we have trained in a variety of disciplines including obedience, tricks, ringcraft, agility, Parkour and Hoopers. Misty now has over 70 training titles, from both UK and international organisations. Where she really excels is Hoopers. This is quite a new dog sport that is fast becoming extremely popular worldwide due to it's low impact status. We compete in the two main UK organisations and have done well in both, qualifying for the finals of both organisations several times. I am a qualified Hoopers instructor and will be running introductory workshops in the future. I am also working towards a dog training qualification. Dogs have been the one consistent thing in my life for over 15 years now and they are my passion in both my working life and my personal life.

As many of you know I am a runner and I am taking on the Great North Run in less than 3 weeks time. It will be my first half marathon so I have decided to fundraise for two special causes. Dementia UK is a cause which is close to my family as we have multiple family members affected and Rens Wildlife Hospital which as some of you know is the charity I work for when I have free time. I'm aiming for £1000 so any donations would be extremely helpful and very gratefully received.

Walks will be adjusted to take into account the heat today. It's already warmer than predicted so I will be shortening walks or swapping to garden visits if a suitable shaded walk isn't possible.

Buddy was showing me how quickly he picked up using his treat toys this week. I highly recommend treat toys for keeping dogs occupied. It's just as important to exercise the brain as well as the body.

French Bulldogs are not built for this weather. Today Eddie and Barrie both had early visits to ensure they were protected from the ridiculous heat. After a toilet break they were both back in their respective living rooms for cuddles in the cool. Eddie enjoyed cooling his junk on the cool mat in front of the fan, whilst Barrie was just chilling with his own private air conditioner, never been so jealous of dogs 🤣🤣🤣

Buddy's mum is taking on the challenge of walking the longest high wire in Europe to raise money for the WISHH charity who support patients in Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. As someone who has been a recipient of the support from this charity whilst kicking cancer's arse twice, it really means a lot to her so please donate what you can. Thank you.

As Monday is due to be 30-31° I will not be doing any walks. All dogs will be switched to a 30 minute garden visit, unless they won't toilet in the garden in which case they will be driven to a shaded area for 5 minutes to toilet and then brought straight home. I will also be starting earlier. If anyone wants to cancel or rearrange walks please drop me a WhatsApp.
