‼️🐾 ATTENTION ANIMAL LOVERS ‼️🐾
Hey all, its Caz. Just a heads up, this post is probably about to become a rant 😅
Couple of years ago I posted about how the rescue was in both a sad and dangerous situation. This was down to a few important factors including funding and available space. Im heartbroken to say we're back in the same situation but quite frankly, this time its even worse.
We've been lucky enough to have a bunch of new followers recently so I’m going to explain a few things again so everyone understands how we work, how we got here and how we move forward.
So as an organisation we take in unwanted rabbits and guinea pigs and provide the care neccessary to get them to a stage they're ready for new homes. This often includes vet care like neutering and vaccination as well as addressing other health and behaviour issues.
We fund this care through fund raising. This includes charging adoption fees when we rehome animals, running bonus balls and other fund raising events both online and in person. Donations. Selling second hand items. We also provide a boarding and bonding service. The fees charged for these services go back directly into the rescue.
We advertise our available animals here, on our page. People considering adoption comment or message us, we discuss the animals needs and sometimes, that enquiry leads to an adoption. We do have high standards and are more than happy to work with people to get a suitable environment in place but not every enquiry becomes an adoption.
We have a set amount of space to house the animals in our care. We cannot and will not expand this space. We are extremely firm believers that there's a fine line between being part of the problem and part of the solution. If we expanded and took on more animals, we wouldn't have enough money or enough time to provide a suitable standard of care for those animals. That would make us part of the problem.
So the cycle works by space becoming available when an animal/animals are adopted and leave to go to their forever home. Then we contact the next person on the waiting list, and that animal/animals come into our care and we repeat the process.
Currently we are at a standstill.
We are completely full. We have exactly 50 animals ready for new homes.
FIFTY.
In addition to those 50 we have another 30+ animals in our care currently not ready for rehoming (Awaiting neutering, on pregnancy watch, under assessment etc)
Then we have a waiting list with another 10+ animals who are waiting for a space to become available so they can be surrendered into our care.
The 50 awaiting homes need your help. Finding them suitable homes has an automatic positive effect on the other two catagories. Adoptions provide funds which help towards pending vet care. And adoptions provide an available space for the animals on the waiting list. We NEED to find them suitable forever homes. They deserve that.

You can help in a number of ways.
The first and probably the most important
📍Interacting with posts. Like. Comment. Share. This helps more people view our content and increases the chances of adoption
📍Taking part in fund raisers like bonus balls. You can do this from your sofa for as little as £1. If its not a prize your interested in - SHARE THE POST. (Theres a more detailed post on fund raising to come later this week)
📍Donations. These come in many forms. Financial donations ie donating money straight to the rescue via paypal, bank transfer or handing in cash.
Items. Items we can sell to raise funds. Items like food, veg, hay, bedding etc which we can use direct on site to care for the animals.
Tombola prizes to use at events. Prizes for raffles, games, bonus balls etc
📍Volunteering. This also comes in many forms. Physically coming to help clean and feed the animals. Transporting animals to & from vets apps. Organising fund raising events. Attending Open days and events.
We now have OVER 10,000 people following this page but most of our posts reach around 1/4 of that. YOU CAN HELP.
And please help ❤️🩹 I’m not ashamed to beg🙏 Ive put 12+ years of my life into this rescue and quite frankly I’m scared now, our whole team is nervous, more than ever before about what the furture holds for us. So please, do whatever you can to help us, to help animals in need. Because without your help, we can't function and I’m scared for all the animals that NEED us to function.
