Shona is a wonderful member of our team, known for her love for animals. As a proud mother to two of our junior members and the wife of the team handyman, she brings a unique blend of family values and community involvement to our group.

Shona has a deep passion for the outdoors, often spending time with her beloved collie dog and two horses. Her lifelong dream of participating in dog sports became a reality when Maggie launched Muddy Mutts Flyball. Recognizing the perfect opportunity for her family, Shona dove into the world of flyball, where they take turns running their competitive dog, Loki. Both Shona and Loki share a spirited competitive nature and are eager to take part in more competitions, showcasing their dedication and enthusiasm for the sport.

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

Megan is a proud mum to two beautiful Springer Spaniels, Brea and Skye. Her journey into flyball started 4 years ago when she attended obedience classes with Brea as a pup. The instructor at the classes suggested they give flyball a go, and that’s where it all began!

Brea quickly became a flyball pro, competing in several events and even attending the championships one year. However, after a while, Megan and Brea felt it was time for a change. They found a perfect fit at Muddy Mutts, where they’re much happier and look forward to training every week. Meanwhile, Skye is just starting her flyball adventure, and we can’t wait to see how she develops!

Before Brea and flyball, Megan spent 4 years in Cyprus as a professional dancer in a show team. Now back home, she works in the NHS and still loves to keep up with her dancing, socialising with friends, and enjoying long walks with her dogs.

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

Lesley-Ann is a Paediatric Nurse and proud dog mum to Bertie, her 3-year-old cockapoo. Despite his small size and more poodle-like appearance, Bertie is definitely the daft kind of dog – full of energy and personality!

Bertie is Lesley-Ann's first dog. She always dreamed of having a dog, but knew it was a big commitment, so she waited until the time was right. When Bertie came along, it was clear that he had arrived at just the right moment, and he’s been by her side ever since – literally her shadow! 💙

Though Bertie can be a bit nervous in certain situations, once he bonds with someone, he loves them fiercely. He has his mischievous moments and crazy outbursts, but even on the most challenging days, his silliness is sure to make everyone laugh out loud.

Last year, Lesley-Ann and Bertie started flyball after hearing about it from Lorna. With Bertie’s boundless energy and need for something fun, they decided to give it a go, and it’s been a brilliant decision. Though life had gotten in the way of training, they’ve both gained confidence from the classes and the supportive group around them. Bertie especially loves when his human aunty Lorna and cousins are there, as they spoil him with all the attention he craves! 🤣

We can’t wait to see what’s next for this dynamic duo! 🐾

This is Lorna, who’s not a dog owner herself, but she’s an integral part of the team, bringing along her two energetic mini-humans to Flyball! 🧒👧

Lorna’s journey with Flyball started for a very special reason—her 5-year-old son had developed a debilitating fear of dogs after an incident, and she hoped Flyball would help him overcome it. Fast forward 8 months, and their family life has completely changed. No longer does she need to worry about scanning for dogs on days out. Now, her son is actively seeking out dogs to pet! 🐶❤️

Lorna’s 8-year-old daughter joined in to support her brother, and now they both love handing out treats, giving furry heads a good rub, and running with any dog that needs it. It’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown, and they’re all enjoying being part of the Flyball team. 🏃‍♀️🐾

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

This is Gillian, the proud dog mum to Skye, a lively and energetic working Cocker Spaniel. Skye is the epitome of a typical Cocker Spaniel—always on the go, rain or shine, with a never-ending desire to chase birds and explore the world around her! 🦅🌧️

While Skye’s adventurous spirit is a joy, she can also be a bit nervous around other dogs. That’s why Gillian decided to give Flyball a try, hoping it would help Skye gain confidence and become more comfortable in social situations. And it’s worked wonders! With each session, Skye has become braver, more well-behaved, and more confident around other dogs. 🐾

It’s been a journey for Gillian and Skye, working hard together to get to where they are today. Though there have been a couple of hiccups along the way (don’t worry, not Skye’s fault!), they’re excited to keep growing and mastering Flyball as a team. 💪🐶

🌟 Meet the Team! 🌟

Next up is Kate, a dedicated dog groomer, business owner, and proud single mum to 10-year-old Niamh. She’s also the loving dog mum to Duna, her 5 (almost 6) year old Giant Schnauzer.

The story of how Duna came into Kate's life is quite amusing! Originally, Kate suggested getting a small fluffy bichon for Niamh, but her ex surprised her with a Giant Schnauzer 😳🙄

Duna has certainly brought her fair share of challenges. While she was well socialized as a puppy, her high prey drive means she loves to chase, leaving other dogs less than thrilled with her enthusiasm.

Having previously competed in flyball with her old dog Bella, including a memorable experience at Crufts, Kate decided to start again with Duna. Reconnecting with old flyball friends, she soon realized that her hectic life and Duna's excitable nature made it challenging to fit flyball into their routine. While the stationary ball may not excite Duna as much as a fast-moving dog, it’s one activity that helps tire her out! Although Duna is still wild at times, she has become much calmer as well—hard to believe, right? 😂😂

🎉🎂 A MASSIVE happy birthday to our amazing Kayla! 🎈 For her special day, we have a fantastic surprise – she’s being promoted to co-captain of the junior team! 🐾 Kayla is now taking charge and running any dog I ask her to, showcasing incredible leadership skills. She’s such a valued member of our team, and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she will achieve in life! Love you, baby girl! 💖

Say hello to Margaret! She affectionately describes herself as the "spare" in Bonnie's eyes (the one who handles all the boring stuff) 😒. Margaret joined Muddy Mutts Flyball to strengthen her bond with her energetic pup, Bonnie.

Both Margaret and Chris are enjoying their retirement, and they welcomed Bonnie into their lives when she was just 5 months old. She came from someone Chris worked with who couldn’t keep up with her boundless energy. Now, their once calm and relaxing retirement feels like a distant memory! 😂

Despite being beginners, Margaret and Bonnie have felt incredibly welcomed at training sessions. They are loving the opportunity to watch and learn from everyone involved.

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

This is Susan, a proud Doodle owner who’s anything but stereotypical! While she might have a soft spot for her furry friend Stanley, she’s quick to point out that he's not your average "designer" dog. With his mix of two working breeds, Stanley is all about mud, water, and adventure—much to Susan’s delight! 🌊🐾

For Susan, walks aren’t just walks—they’re full-blown adventures. And, more often than not, these adventures involve lots of muddy paws and splashing around. She believes dogs should *do dog stuff*, so Stanley’s life is one big exploration, with plenty of ball-obsession thrown in for good measure. ⚽️

When Stanley’s love for balls became too much to ignore, Susan decided to give Flyball a try, hoping to help him channel his energy in a more controlled way. Nearly two years later, and the obsession is still as strong as ever—though Susan wouldn’t have it any other way! 😅

When not at flyball or off on an adventure Susan makes crafts for the team to sell to raise money for our events and projects.

One of Susan's proudest moments? Watching Stanley win the club’s very first *Dog of the Year* award. It’s safe to say she’s just as devoted to her mischievous Doodle as he is to his balls! 😜🥰

When Katie isn't participating in flyball with Skye, she can be found snowboarding or ensuring that Maggie doesn’t get lost at events. Their dynamic duo is always ready for the next adventure!

With over 10 years of experience working with pets, Martyn has realised his dream of becoming a professional photographer. He is professionally trained and is currently pursuing a degree in photography, proudly identifying as a luxury photographer. Starting his journey as a dedicated pet photographer, he quickly gained recognition as one of Scotland’s best. Introducing Nicola, the wonderful wife to Callum and proud human mum to Brodie! She's also the doggie mum to the beautiful and mischievous 3-year-old English Springer Spaniel, Penny! 💗

Nicola joined Flyball to strengthen her bond with Penny after a tough time following the loss of their late King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Lady. Springers are definitely a different breed! 😂

Flyball has been a game-changer for them. Penny has learned so much obedience and developed a love for balls 🎾 (especially if they have a bit of rabbit skin on them 😂). Their bond has never been stronger! 💜

When she’s not at Flyball, you can find Nicola working hard and attending exercise classes to stay fit and keep up with both a lively Springer and her energetic 5-year-old son! 💪🐾

🌟Meet the Team🌟

This is Lesley, mum of two boys (known as curly and chicken), who, in a moment of inspiration, decided that what her anxiety-ridden life really needed was... a spaniel! Enter Ollie – a 2-year-old lemon roan working cocker spaniel with a serious case of FOMO.

Lesley tried (and failed) to wear him out, but instead, she joined Muddy Mutts Flyball to build a bond with her energetic 'spanner', giving him a job, and meet some new faces after moving back to her hometown. Plus, it's a great way to avoid the running that comes with agility!

When she's not at flyball, Lesley’s on taxi duty for her kids' extracurriculars, braving rainy day walks, indulging in good food, watching great films, reading, or building Lego.

And don't let the anxiety fool you – she's brilliant at planning and has every scenario mapped out!
