We've always been farmers, but we're much more than a farm. You can visit over 750 animals at our zoo, and get up close to furry and feathery farmyard friends in our barn. Choose from 16 different rides in our vintage fairground, or enjoy our eight adventure play areas. We've got 120 acres of fun so there really is something for everyone!

We’ve been supporting the creation of wildflower meadows! 🌺
When you think of wildflower meadows you probably think of hot summer days, flowers bursting with colour and insects buzzing overhead. Sadly, this image has become increasingly rare with a startling 97% of traditional meadows lost since the 1930’s! 😔

Thankfully, lots of local grasslands are being restored to their former glory and we’ve been working hard over the last five years to improve our own grasslands with a variety of plants, with help from some lovely neighbours! 🥰
Meadows require management - a huge variety of plants and wildlife wouldn’t survive without it.
Removing grass from the field reduces nutrients in the soil, which native flowers prefer. The cut hay is also a vital food source in the winter for many of our animals.
We cut the meadows late in the season to allow insects to complete their life cycles and for flowers to drop their seeds. 🐞
A diverse variety of plants provides a food source for many insects. A three acre diverse meadow can produce enough nectar to feed half a million bees! 🐝 😮 It also helps attract a variety of different wildlife.

We’ve recently carried out some hay cuts and this time we have used some for ‘green hay’ - a method of spreading wildflower seeds by collecting it from a field that contains a variety of plants and moving it to a recipient field. Once a recipient field is cut and cleared, we spread the green hay across it and allow seeds to drop into the soil. We’ve seen great success in some of our meadows over recent years, with patches of various wildflowers blooming. 🌹 🌻 🌺 🌼 🚜

Most recently our Folly Farm Holiday Park meadow has been cut and the seeds have been spread onto Big Broom Meadow in our zoo, to increase plant diversity! 🤩 ❤️ 🚜
