LOOKING FOR A HOME - MILLY & PHILIP, 4-5 years old.

Can anbody give this gorgeous pair a new home? They are brother and sister duo Milly and Philip. Their owners were very sad to give them up but due to a change in their circumstances they were left with no choice. They’re both friendly little souls; Philip is fond of giving headbutts and Milly is more timid but likes some gentle fuss. They are bonded and will need to find a home together. Is there anybody that would like to take them both on?

If you have any questions about this pair or would like to talk to Marion about rehoming them, please call her on 01299 270701

Latest update 30 May 2026.We have rehomed most of the cats and are now in the processing of cleaning all the pens out and tidying up. The RSPCA have taken 4 cats and put at least 3 cats to sleep. Thank you to everyone who has sent their support it has been a very stressful time. I feel very sad that after 20 years of helping people and the cats they bring in that I have been so badly treated by the RSPCA who pressured me into signing the cats over to them. Why don’t they concentrate on the cruelty that occurs all the time instead of upsetting the work I do for nothing, and causing me a lot of upset. I will keep you informed. According to the RSPCA someone came here to look at the cats and reported back to the RSPCA that they had seen some dirty dishes here. The way they treated me when they came you would think it was far more serious. What they do not tell you is that I have helped them in the past with stray kittens and cats but that doesn’t seem to count. If I have to close down then a useful service that I offer will be lost. AN UPDATE

We just wanted to update you on the nightmare situation of the past few days. We have received a call from the RSPCA to say that the four cats have indeed not been put to sleep as originally feared, rather they are receiving medical treatment. These are all senior cats from the Sanctuary.

We would like to thank everybody for the outpouring of support. This situation has totally blindsided us and it has been an incredibly distressing, upsetting time. Marion always does her best for these cats in very challenging conditions. She takes in the cats that nobody else will.

Newbridge is an independent, registered charity that receives no funding or grants. Neither Marion nor her helpers take any kind of salary and every penny donated goes into looking after the cats and providing veterinary care. We will update you further once decisions about reopening to the public have been made. Thank you again for your continued support.

I thought I would give a brief account of events happening here. Someone has reported me to the RSPCA saying that I am not looking after the cats properly. The RSPCA have been here taken some cats away and they have been put to sleep. They are coming again tomorrow to test some more. That’s all I can say at this time. Marion

Hello everyone, we are temporarily closed to the public. We will, of course, be looking after the cats that we have in our care at the moment but we won’t be able to take in or rehome any cats at this time.

SPECIAL APPEAL - SEBASTIAN

Hello, my name is Sebastian! I’m a one-of-a-kind cat looking for a special home.

As you can see, I am very handsome but my eyes are a little unusual. It is thought that I caught cat flu as a youngster, leaving me with very limited sight. I arrived at Newbridge last year after being found living alone on the streets. A kind soul made sure I was fed but they worried I would end up injured so they brought me to Marion for safety. I have settled nicely and gradually grown more confident in my surroundings but now it’s time to find a home to call my own.

I don’t really know how old I am but I am believed to be at least 10 years old. I am a big, friendly boy that gets on with other cats. I love being fussed and warming myself in the sunshine or by the fire. I’m looking for a quiet home, perhaps with a retiree or somebody that works from home and can spend plenty of time with me while I get used to my new surroundings. Large spaces scare me so a small, secure outside space where I can sit in the sunshine with my new owners would be just perfect. I would not do well in a busy household, so no children or homes with lots of visitors, please.

If you would like to be considered for the rehoming of Sebastian, please call Marion on 01299 270701 or email [email protected]

**UPDATE - NOW REHOMED!!**

Thank you so much for all the shares, comments and likes. The lovely Lucy has now found her forever home. A happy ending for the friendliest little kitty ❤

SPECIAL APPEAL - LUCY, 7 years old

“Hello, my name is Lucy and I’m a sweet girl looking for my forever home. I arrived at Newbridge last year with my sister, Lily. We were lucky enough to find a home together but I didn’t settle well so my new owners reluctantly returned me to Marion. Unfortunately, many months have passed since then and I haven’t had any interest. I’m a friendly feline that likes a gentle fuss and would be great company for an older person or couple. A quiet home with outside space where I can sit in the sunshine would be ideal. I’m hopeful that somebody will me give me another chance at happiness soon. Could that person be you?”

If you would like to be considered for the rehoming of Lucy, please call Marion on 01299 270701 or email [email protected]
