With the help of our valued supporters, we’re working towards a better future for animals through compassion, education, and advocacy. We care for over 350 rescued animals at our headquarters, Goodheart Farm Animal Sanctuary based in Worcestershire. As part of our dedicated Education Programme, we facilitate meaningful connections between visitors and our residents, helping to reshape perceptions

of “so called” farm animals and raise awareness of their suffering. Alongside this, we back national campaigns to prevent animal cruelty and inspire people of all generations to make compassionate lifestyle changes.

An update on Brody 🐷💚

Our newest piggy resident, Brody, has just met his new paddock-mates, Parsnip and Momma!

Because Brody is blind and still settling into sanctuary life, we knew he would need some calm and gentle companions by his side. Best friends Parsnip and Momma have turned out to be the perfect match.

We recently introduced them, and they're already happily sharing mealtimes together – always a very good sign in piggy world! 🥰

We'll keep you updated as Brody continues to settle in 💚

Our full Open Day programme is now live! 📣

We're so excited to welcome guest speakers from The Vegan Society, Freedom for Animals, Veganuary and Veganism in Education who'll be sharing inspiring insights and thought-provoking talks throughout the day. 🌱

Alongside the talks, we'll be running a range of ethical animal experiences, giving you the chance to meet some of our wonderful rescued residents up close. 🐷

Can you help name our new arrivals? 👋💚

We've just welcomed six sheep to the sanctuary – three females and three males – and we'd love your help choosing their names!

They were rescued from a farm by a kind lady living in the neighbouring farmhouse. As she is no longer able to look after them, they've now joined our sanctuary 💚

They're currently settling into their new surroundings in the barn and getting to know their Animal Carers. Before long, we'll be introducing them to the rest of our rescued flock.

We'll keep you updated on their progress as they begin their new chapter at the sanctuary.

A month on from surgery to remove his eye, Brucey the goose is doing so well! He’s back to confidently adventuring with the gaggle, and the surgical site is healing nicely. 💚

This is what sanctuary is all about - providing lifelong support for animals so they can live safely, comfortably, and with the dignity and care they deserve.

Summer haircuts all round! ✂️🐑

Our sheep were sheared last week, just in time for the heatwave, so they’re feeling fresh, cool and comfortable - and definitely summer ready! ☀️

It’s set to be another very hot day here at the sanctuary, so the team will be busy topping up water troughs, making mud wallows, providing plenty of shade, and keeping a close eye on our older residents.

We’re doing everything to keep our animals (and our team) safe and cool in the heat. 💚

Happy 7th Gotcha Day to Pumba! 🐷🎉

He’s celebrating his rescuversary in true Pumba style… with a very long lie-in! 💤

Pumba arrived with his friend Timone in 2019 after they were rescued from an illegal site by the RSPCA. Sadly, Timone passed away in 2020, but Pumba has since found friendship and comfort with Bertie and Cedric, and the three are now the best of companions.

Seven years on, Pumba is safe, loved, and living the life every pig deserves - full of naps, good food, muddy adventures, and plenty of love 💚

Please welcome our newest resident, Brody the pig. 🐷💚

Brody came to us after his lifelong piggy companion sadly passed away and his carer felt he deserved the chance to spend his retirement years surrounded by new friends.

Brody is almost completely blind, so he relies heavily on his piggy companions to help him navigate daily life and feel safe.

He’ll soon be meeting his new friends here at the sanctuary, but for now, please join us in welcoming Brody to Goodheart and wishing him a happy new chapter. ✨
