Paw&Tail Pet Grooming Dog grooming If your dog never been in our salon before,please inform the groomer if your dog has any medical conditions such as cold, epilepsy or other issues.

In order to ensure that your dog is calm and cooperate with the groomer we ask that owner do not stay during grooming. All tools and equipment used in our salon are sterilized after each use. No sedatives are used in our salon. In the event of needing to cancel the appointment please inform us 24 hours in advance.

Recently I’ve had lots of calls asking when is the best time to introduce a puppy to grooming. My answer has always been, and always will be, as soon as possible after they are fully vaccinated.

Some breeders tell new puppy owners that puppies don’t need grooming until they are 6 months old, but this is simply not true.

Introducing grooming early is so important for a puppy’s health and wellbeing. Early grooming helps puppies get used to being handled, brushed, bathed, and touched all over. This makes a huge difference as they grow, helping them stay calm and relaxed during grooming rather than fearful or stressed.

Regular grooming also gives owners and groomers the chance to check the puppy’s skin, coat, ears, teeth, and nails, and spot any issues early. Most importantly, it helps build trust and makes grooming a positive experience.

These are my own puppies, who have been introduced to grooming from just 5 weeks old. Flora and Ortis are now 11 weeks old, and you can see how relaxed and comfortable they are. Early, gentle exposure really does make all the difference 🐾✨
