Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all doing well. I apologise for my absence over the past few months, life has been busy! I am happy to say that I qualified as an EMT 🚑 last November and am also working part time in a school, which has kept me busy!

Despite these commitments, I have continued to offer dog-sitting/training services on a smaller scale. Now that it is summer holidays again I am happy to say that I am available for both dog training & dog sitting services. Please note that dog sitting services are available for a maximum of three days unless otherwise discussed. To ensure availability, please message me asap as I am filling up for next few weeks! I will still be offering dog training on weekends during the school term and available for dog sitting on weekends and during school holidays.

I look forward to seeing you and your fur babies soon 🩷🐾

Please have a read of MJSPawcare&Training updated policies x

A pawtastic post about prepping for the storm! Please ensure you only let your dog out for toilet and ensure they are kept on lead, also make sure they have ID on their collars incase they do somehow escape! Be safe 🩷🐾

Storm Eowyn will, apparently, be dangerous and destructive so don't forget to include your pets in the advised protective planning.

High winds and other storm noises may cause sensitive dogs to predict the arrival of thunder, so may cause noise-fear responses.
High winds distorts the auditory and olfactory landscapes confusing and disorienting dogs. All in all, this might be a pretty miserable time for our pets too.

✅secure pets indoors or in safe, secure, solid and insulated housing
✅make sure pets are safe and secured away from things that may be blown over on them or structures
✅ if your dog shows sensitivity to noises, like storms or fireworks, seek guidance from your vet re. short acting anxiolytic medications
✅ check fencing and gates before releasing pets into any area
✅ keep your dog on lead, even at home, and make sure they wear up to date ID
✅ ensure that your dog's and cat's microchip details are up to date
✅ stock up on the BEST treats and toys so you can have lots of happy-parties, snuffle-parties, squeaky parties to help weather the storm (literally)
✅ skip outings and instead exercise and entertain at home - use ideas from
✅ when background stress is raised dogs may be less tolerant of children, other pets and things they can usually cope with - give them more space and time, and directly supervise
✅ hang out with your pet in well insulated areas, away from doors and comings and goings
✅ turn up the volume on music, TV to create an alternative soundscape; even if the power is out you can make household noises and pair those sounds with treat tosses and chases
✅ allow your pet decide how they like to be comforted - maybe they want to hide away, maybe they want to be close to you, maybe they want to lie on you or next to you
✅ you can comfort your frightened pet

Stay safe and I hope their is minimal damage and disruption for you and yours❤
