I seen this earlier, and thought what a fantastic idea to capture your dogs iris in a photo. If my boys were still here I definitely would've got this done. 👀💖

🐾👁️ MY FIRST DOGGY IRIS! 👁️🐾

I’ve officially photographed my first doggy iris! 🥹📸🐶

I’ve always been a little reluctant to try pet iris photography because, unlike humans, we can’t exactly ask our furry friends to sit perfectly still! 😂 But Dawn wanted to give it a go, so we decided to try it — and I’m actually really pleased with how it turned out! ❤️

This gorgeous fur baby was a little older and lovely and calm, which definitely helped. Their humans were able to gently hold their head still while I captured the eye. 🥰🐾

With human iris photography, I use a specialist headrest to keep the head completely still, which allows me to capture those super-sharp details. With dogs, this isn't possible, so their owners gently hold their head while I work freehand.

Because of this, doggy irises won't generally be quite as sharp or detailed as human irises, and it won't be suitable for every dog. They need to be reasonably calm and comfortable with someone working close to their face and a light being briefly shone towards their eye. Nervous or very excitable dogs may find it too much, and their comfort always comes first. ❤️🐶

But look at this gorgeous centre iris! 😍👁️🐾

I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with pet iris photography, so watch this space! 📸✨

Photo time from through the week. We had little chief join us for a day, he was almost a trip hazard but we got used to him eventually 🥰

Plenty of photos from last week to this week. We went to visit Olly and Maisie on Friday and I can confirm it was super exciting 😍 All the dogs had a fab walk. 🐶🐾
