Hello!
I hit 500+ cakes, recently, largely due to your repeat orders over the last few years.
Thank you so, so much for trusting me to make your dogs their cakes ๐๐ป
Costs have risen (not so slowly) for all of us in that time and 20%+ increases in raw materials, utility (a cake takes 4+ hours of electricity) prices and fuel hikes have made this a busy hobby rather than a profitable business.
I had (and probably still have) dreams of a shop and takeaway empire ๐.
Whilst having those dreams and hitting unthinkable targets, Iโve forced my family to eat every meal on their knees because the dining table is full of Tupperware with letters, icing bags etc, taken space in cupboards with moulds and ingredients, placed an industrial chiller in the kitchen, put up a centrefeed dispenser on the side of a kitchen unit (quite useful, actually ๐) and placed another American style fridge freezer in the hall.
Dry your eyes Lee, I hear you say ๐
As, I think, some of you also know Iโve had MS for 22 years (with all itโs annoying effects) and a hip disease from birth. Because Iโm getting older and fatter (sad but true) my mobility is deteriorating. 4 falls in the past 2 weeks and a week in hospital have confirmed that.
The sum of all those parts has led me to draw an end to the Sistersโ adventure. I am absolutely gutted and quite tearful as I type this.
Iโm a people person, I love dogs, I have dogs and this is not easy but I need to look at my familyโs life and my own physical and mental health.
ALL EXISTING ORDERS WILL BE HONOURED
I only, really, know of one other cake maker for your pups (Pupcakes by Lilian) but, I believe there is a young lady who is doing great work but sheโs in Ayr.
Nobody is dying here and I need to bear that in mind. Itโs been a hell of a journey and learning curve (remember my background is in hotels, as a GM and FC).
Perhaps our paths will cross in the future. Please stay safe and hold your furbabies tight ๐ถโค๏ธ
Thank you, thank you, thank you ๐๐ป
