Hello everyone!

I am now on holiday untill 12th May travelling around the north coast of Scotland ☀️
I will still be answering messages but please bear with me.

If you need to change any appointments do so asap so I can accommodate the best I can.

I know most of you book a few appointments in advance which is great as I do get booked up really quickly.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather and thank you for all your support and understanding! ❤️

Thank you
Laura 🐾

WHAT YOU DON'T SEE AT THE DOG GROOMERS.......
You dropped your dog off at the salon and picked them up few hours later - fluffy, fresh, and happy. But what you saw was just the tip of the iceberg.

You didn’t see your groomer arrive early to open up the salon, disinfect tools, lay out fresh towels, and check the day’s appointments. You didn’t see them look over your dog from nose to tail before even lifting a brush - checking the coat condition, skin, eyes, ears, nails, and weight.

You didn’t see the careful way they clipped around a wriggly paw, or how they paused to let your dog calm down during the bath. You didn’t notice the matting hidden beneath your dog’s topcoat, or the way the groomer worked slowly to avoid hurting the skin beneath it.

You weren’t there when they spotted a red patch of irritated skin, or a small lump you hadn’t noticed. You heard them gently mention it to you at collection - not to worry you, but because they genuinely care about your dog’s wellbeing.

And after you left, you didn’t see the clean-down , the floor swept, tables cleaned, blades oiled, messages replied to, notes written up for your next visit, and laundry on again.

All of that… for a price that’s often lower than what you’d pay for your own haircut. And your hairdresser?
They don’t have to bathe you, clip your nails, or hold you still while you try to bite the brush.

The truth is ……. dog grooming is so much more than a haircut.

It’s about health, hygiene, comfort, and trust. It’s about knowing dog anatomy, coat types, skin conditions, behaviour management, handling skills, and safe sc******ng techniques. It’s a profession that takes training, practice, and patience.
Most groomers got into this work because they love dogs. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be paid fairly for the physical, emotional, and skilled work they do every single day.

If your dog leaves their groomer happy, healthy and looking good - it’s not by luck. It’s because you have got a good groomer.
So next time, take a moment to thank them. Leave a review.

Tip them if you can. And above all - don’t undervalue them.
They’re doing far more than just washing the dog.

Hello everyone, In order to provide clarity for all my clients and ensure that you and your dog relieve the best possible service, please note the following salon terms and conditions.

🐾 Payments, missed appointments and rebooking.

I accept card, cash and bank transfer.

However if you are paying by Bacs please do so before, during or at pick up. Please do not leave payment until after your appointment. Also, make sure you are transferring to the correct account. If you are unsure please message me. I have had a new business bank account since January 2024 and I still have some people paying to my old account.

Should you need to cancel your appointment for any reason please do so as far in advance as possible. Any cancellations less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time or no shows at the appointment time will require payment in full for the missed appointment.

To rebook after not showing up I will require a 50% deposit to secure your appointment.

Anyone who is 20 mins or more late to an appointment may be turned away due to me not having time to complete the service. This will also require payment as it will be classed as a no show.

Please keep in mind that I am currently running 5-6 weeks booked in advance with most people rebooking 2/3 appointments ahead. I do my best to fit people in when they are needed however, sometimes this is not possible.

🐾 Parasites and your dogs comfort

To maintain the health and comfort of your dog and others using the salon, dogs that have fleas will be bathed in a flea shampoo and an additional charge of £5 for small/medium dogs and £10 for large dogs.

Any ticks found on your dog will also be removed.

Please insure your dog has been to the toilet before they are brought to be groomed. I have a few dogs that regularly poo/wee 5 minutes into their appointment due to not being let out. I want your dog to be comfortable the whole time they are with me and not desperate for the toilet.

🐾 Matting

I have a salon policy to clip off any matted coats. Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal. Matts can become very uncomfortable and painful if they are left unattended. My policy is to remove knots using slicker brushes, combs or scissors, however, if the matt is too big it will be clipped off. This will incur an extra charge, depending the severity of the matting.

🐾 Time keeping

Please arrive to your appointment on time. If you are going to be late, for any reason, please let me know. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late it will be classed as a no show and I will not be able to groom your dog due to not having enough time.

Please don’t arrive early to your appointment. This is to ensure I do not have a dog in the salon that cannot be with another dog.
If you are early please message me incase I am free.

🐾 Respect for my neighbours

Out of courtesy to neighbours, please be aware of where you park when attending for appointments and do not park in front of driveways at the end of the Close or on grass verges. There is usually available space opposite the house or on the hill approaching the Close. If our driveway is free you can park there!

Please pick up after your dog and take your rubbish home with you, not left in any neighbours bins or on the floor.

🐾 Grooming puppies, pregnant bi***es and elderly dogs.

Puppies: I will not offer a full groom for a puppy that hasn’t been in the salon before. The puppy package is specifically designed to help the puppy. Alternatively puppies can have a bath and dry first to get them used to the salon and being away from you for a small amount of time then build it up.

Pregnant bi***es: I do not groom any bi***es that are pregnant.

Elderly dogs: when grooming elderly dogs my priority is their comfort rather than the haircut. If they are able to stand and endure the length of time it takes to perform a full groom that is great. However if they can’t it will be a welfare groom. I always let them have breaks and sit down when needed.

✨ Lastly, I have a zero tolerance approach for abuse towards myself and my business ✨

All clients will receive these terms and conditions and be asked to sign copy. This will be kept by me in line with GDPR guidelines.

Thank you for your ongoing support and trust with your dogs! ❤️
