What is hand stripping?🐾

Hand stripping is a grooming technique that removes dead hair from the root, allowing a fresh, weather-resistant topcoat to grow in. For Cocker Spaniels, this helps maintain the breed’s rich colour, correct coat texture, and natural protection from the elements.

Unlike clipping, hand stripping preserves the coat’s natural characteristics and encourages healthy coat renewal. The process should only be carried out when the coat is naturally ready to shed, ensuring the dog’s comfort and the best possible results.

I can hardly believe I’m writing this… but I have some exciting news to share!!🐾✂️
I’m absolutely delighted and incredibly honoured and privileged to have been selected as a Brand Ambassador for Kojirō Grooming Products

I first met Nigel and Maddy last year when I purchased the K by Kojiro “Akari” set as my everyday scissors. After using them and seeing the finish they achieved, as well as how lightweight and comfortable they were for daily grooming, I quickly added another set to my competition grooming kit.

From day one, my focus has always been on providing the very best grooming experience for every dog in my care. The tools I use play a huge part in that, so being recognised by a respected scissor brand is something I’m truly grateful for.
