Backpack Adventures, Anyone?

Parrot friends… have you tried taking your bird out in one of those clear parrot backpacks yet?!

We took Marvin and Suki to the park yesterday and they were loving it. Spying on joggers, judging dogs!

Backpacks = fresh air, sunshine, and endless stimulation (without the whole flying off into the sunset risk!)

Drop photos or stories of your outdoor backpack adventures or questions if you’re thinking of getting one!

So my parrot just said “You again?” when I walked into the room…
I don’t know whether to laugh or claim for emotional damage.

Parrots seriously have no filter and honestly, I love them more for it.

What’s the funniest or most unexpected thing your bird has ever said?

Feathers Flying? It Might Be Molting Time!

Is your parrot looking a little scruffy lately? Finding more feathers on the floor than usual? Don’t worry, it could just be molting season!

Molting is a totally natural part of your bird’s life as they shed old feathers to grow fresh, shiny new ones. But it can be a bit uncomfortable for them.

A few tips to help your bird through it:
✅ Offer daily misting or warm baths
✅ Add nutrient-rich foods (like leafy greens & omega-3s)
✅ Provide soft perches and extra snuggle time
✅ Be gentle, those pin feathers are sensitive!

Heatwave Alert = Frozen Treat Time!

With another heatwave on the way, it’s time to help our feathered friends stay cool in the tastiest way possible.

Frozen Fruit Lollipops!

An easy and bird-safe way to beat the heat, just skewer parrot-safe fruits (like apple, melon, berries, or mango), freeze for a few hours, and serve!

Bonus: Try hanging the frozen treat in their cage for a little foraging fun while they cool down.

Hi flock fam! With temperatures soaring in many areas, let’s not forget how heatwaves can affect our feathered companions. Parrots are sensitive to extreme heat and humidity, so here are some quick tips to keep them cool, comfortable, and safe:

🧊 Fresh Water 24/7 – Change it often and consider adding a few ice cubes.
🌬️ Ventilation is key – Use fans (not blowing directly on them) or air conditioning if available.
🚿 Misting Magic – Lightly mist your parrot or offer a shallow bath to help them regulate their body temperature.
🏠 Avoid Direct Sunlight – Make sure their cage isn't in the sun during the hottest part of the day.
🥵 Watch for Signs of Overheating: Panting, wings held away from the body, or lethargy. If you see any of these, act fast and cool them down gradually.

Let’s all spread awareness and make sure no bird suffers this summer. 🧡
